This lesson focused on "Outsourcing Jobs." I provided a video and two articles for them to review outside of class. Students then gave their opinion on whether outsourcing is good or bad for the US economy. After uploading their video, students responded to a classmate's. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have been working this semester on learning how to use Nearpod and an Ipad with the Smartboard.  I like Nearpod because it allows students to respond anonymously.  I also like the fact that I can see several responses at one time in one place.  I plan to continue to work with this program.  Using the Ipad gives me the option of moving around the room while I work and having a student near me contribute if I wish. </div>]]></description>

The digital literacy team conducted a presentation on how to build a better understanding of using technology using Nearpod. Various SOS strategies were presented. A tutorial was presented on REMIND 101 and how it can be used as a communication tool for teachers, parents, and students. </div>]]></description>

This program allows teachers to immediately determine which concepts need to be retaught using the item analysis feature. Students receive immediate feedback in terms of their test score and are more interested in reviewing the questions they missed rather than waiting several days for a teacher to give feedback after they have hand graded the test. </div>]]></description>

They were also given information on citing sources. Students were taught how to use Alabama Virtual Library. They were given topics to choose from. Students were then instructed to search the topic and narrow results to approximately 40, using "limiters." These instructional sessions were collaborations with English, and History teachers during research papers. Discovery Education's Board Builder was used to organize information for students to use during, and after instructional sessions.</div>]]></description>

Students worked in groups of five to create a presentation that consisted of historical context, political ads, and election results. Students in the government classes were responsible for historical context and results. English students were responsible for analyzing the persuasive techniques in the political ads. </div>]]></description>
