         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hook: Frederick Douglass, ex-slave and famous writer, used his story and his life to show others the truth of what was really happening on the plantations of the south.<br>Background information: The book <em>A Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass </em>is written by Frederick Douglass himself, making the book an autobiography, and that makes it special because it holds all of Douglass's personal thoughts, hopes, dreams, views, and ideas. The book was written in 1845, and provides insight into some very uniquely detailed accounts of the horrible traditions of the slave-holders of southern plantations.<br>Thesis statement: Along with the use of lots of figurative language, Douglass uses his experiences to reveal the effects of slavery on slaves and slave owners which supports his position to abolish/end slavery.</div>]]></description>

This is important because then people will finally be able to know the truth of what really happens on the plantations, so that evil can be shunned and good can be diligently sought.</div>]]></description>
