my picture:

The big ball of burning gas

That keeps us alive

Like a mother and her baby.

The sun leaps over us

Horizon to horizon

And gives us light

So that we might

Make it through the night

To await a sunrise

And with it

A new beginning

If we could hear it

The sun would be singing us a lullaby

But wake us up by BEEP-BEEP-BEEPing

As light rains down like cats and dogs

And we go about our daily life

We should pause

And thank the sun

For being a big burning ball

That allows us to have fun with all!

The photo I originally chose was a beautiful sunset up in lake of the woods, canada, where my cabin is and it is my happy place so i decided to pair my poem with it! Sadly, i was very confused on how i could get that photo that i took onto this document.

I want to convey that the sun is important and has a huge role in our lives

I took the original photo because it was a sight to see but this one just comes up under sunsets on google

In my poem i used rhyme, simile, personification, and alliteration, along with idiom, to convey how i felt.
