What's unique at Shantiniketan?<br>Ans: In other schools, the classes were held in the classroom but in Shantiniketan, classes were held under the tree. They believe that students have to learn on the lap of nature. In other schools, free food and free education were not provided however, these facilities were provided in Shantiniketan<br><br>3. Share your thoughts about Tagore's Unquie concept of Education<br>Ans: Personally, Tagore's concept of education emphasized holistic development, creativity, and freedom, nurturing individuals to think independently and connect with nature and society.</div>]]></description>

He believed that only education could give us complete freedom in terms of freedom of mind, freedom of heart and freedom of will.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>2. What's unique at Shantiniketan?<br>Shantiniketan followed a unique way of education. The elder students served and looked after the younger ones. The students learnt many languages such as Bengali, Chinese, French, etc. The students had many extracurricular activities to choose from, such as textile printing, modeling, leatherwork, drawing and painting, etc. We could see that many of the students in the video were very happy doing what they were, leading to the title 'the abode of peace'.</div><div><br></div><div>3. Share your thoughts about Tagore's Unique concept of education.<br>This school in Shantiniketan offers many opportunities for young boys and girls. The students get to choose what they would like to do, many options being put before them. I would sure like to go to a school with so many possibilites.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Q1 What does education mean to Rabindranath Tagore?<br>Ans:Rabindranath Tagore, the renowned Indian poet, philosopher, and Nobel laureate, had a profound and unique perspective on education. He believed that education should not be confined to the narrow boundaries of classrooms and textbooks but should be deeply intertwined with life itself. Tagore's views on education were rooted in his broader philosophy of life and freedom.<br><br>Q2 What is unique at Shantiniketan?<br>Ans: It is a non-communal school for boys and girls. Where education is held in close communion with nature. To build close relationship of student and teacher classes were kept very small and informal. Various languages were taught in the Cheena Bhavan such as Chinese, French, Tibetan, Sanskrit, Bengali. Different arts were taught in the Kala Bhavan such as textile printing, modeling, leather work, Rangoli, Fresco, wood cut, embroidery, weaving. A variety of dance forms were taught in the&nbsp; Sangeet Bhavan such as Manipuri dancing. Then they had to bath at 11 am. After that there was lunch time at 11:30 where the older kids served the younger kids which taught them a valuable lesson " There is no such thing as degrading work. ". They had to do manual work for hand and eye coordination. They encouraged hobbies such as bird feeding. In the late evenings there were entertainment programs organized by the kids like dance performance. Every Wednesday morning all the students have to gather at the shrine to worship god in all his glory without and picture or sculpture. Rabindranath Tagore believed that students should be free and happy while learning and should have some exposure to the natural environment thus there were no classrooms. He also believed that true education should help individuals develop a love for learning and cultivate a sense of empathy and social responsibility towards others.<br><br>2. What is unique at Shantiniketan?<br>Ans. Rabindranath Tagore set up an educational institution called Visva-Bharti at Shantiniketan ('abode of peace'), near Calcutta. The school started with only five students and aimed to bring the learning process closer to Nature . as opposed to the strict rote learning of British schools, where creativity was encouraged. Classrooms in Shantiniketan were under the skies, so even if a student's mind wanders, it would dwell in the cosmos. Also, The Gurukul system, creativity, and spirituality were taught to them in Shantiniketan.<br><br>Q3, Share your thoughts about Tagore's Unique concept of Education.<br>Ans. I think this way of making children learn will be really helpful as they are learning many things and a lot of multicultural education was taught to them.
