A fun read for younger children. The sentence structure is very simple and the words on each page is no longer than 1-2 lines. The language is very simple and easy to understand. This is also a great book for students who come from homes where the father plays a very important role in their creativity. The images are also highly creative and relevant to the text, which is beneficial to younger readers. An outstanding book for students in upper elementary. This text is unpredictable and uses some unfamiliar words but is nonetheless a great read. It alludes to the homeless population as well as other minority populations and includes a lot of diversity in characters. The ending was unpredictable and helps students to begin understanding the importance of helping others and appreciating what they have. This is a chapter book which would be suitable for 5th--6th grade readers. There is significantly more text than other books and less pictures. This book has a rarely seen topic in children's books, homelessness. This could be a very relevant book for students who are housing insecure because it hones in on not the fact the they are homeless, but the fact that they are together and they have each other. There are illustrations on each page but they are not necessary for understanding the text. The story talks about an unusual encounter in a small town which many young readers may not have experienced before.
