Leadership Traits

Confidence is a trait that has to do with feeling positive about oneself and one’s ability to succeed

Integrity characterizes leaders who possess the qualities of honesty and trustworthiness.

The potential reactions subordinates may have to the leadership traits identified above are: security, safety, and responsibility. It is very important for subordinates to have a strong leader they can look up to and trust. Without a strong leadership team, a company's goals may become stagnant or not achievable. This may lead to low morale and employees even looking for employment elsewhere.

Benefits:
* Confident leaders feel self-assured and believe they can accomplish the goals
they set for themselves and their business
* Feel strong and secure about their position
* Do not second guess themselves
* Comes from understanding what is required of you and from lots of practice
* Other natural leaders may be drawn to their confidence and build a powerful,
trustworthy team
* Leaders who possess integrity exhibit qualities of honesty and trustworthiness

Challenges:
* Confident leaders may experience loneliness, ruthless coworkers, selfishness,
and egocentric partners
* Employees may not be prepared for a confident leader to admit mistakes or
poor decisions - may lead to lack of trust
* Leadership/management who exhibit integrity, it may be very hard to overcome
the perception of dishonesty and not being transparent enough to subordinates

Hypothesis:
A confident leader may feel self-assured and believe they can accomplish all goals they set for themselves and their company. They feel strong and secure about their position, do not second guess themselves, and feel positive about their leadership ability and the ability to succeed. This comes from understanding what is required of you and comes from lots of practice.

Subordinate employees may not be prepared for a confident leader to admit their mistakes and poor decisions. They may not expect their leadership to be confident enough to expose their weaknesses and failures. However, once the leadership exposes their honesty and vulnerability, subordinate employees may now feel drawn to their leadership team. The leadership team’s confidence may help bolster employees confidence in themselves and may even improve employee morale. Moreover, the subordinate employees will come to realize that their leadership team’s confidence is based off of their experiences and may lead to the subordinate employees to come together saying “we can do it.” This will lead to all working towards and achieving a common goal of excellence!
