         <description><![CDATA[<div>On October 24, 1929, investors began to fear that an economic crash was coming so they started selling overpriced shares of the stock market in large amounts. A record 12.9 million shares were traded on October 24th and the day became known as “Black Thursday.”<br><br>Five days later, on October 29th another wave of panic occurred on Wall Street and about 16 million shares were traded. As a result, millions of shares ended up worthless, and investors who bought stocks with borrowed money were ruined completely.</div>]]></description>
