Inference:This source tells me that the teenagers had to help their family to have enough food and money by plucking fruits and selling them as during Jo, there was no enough food for the teenagers.
Evidence: "We would go and pluck jambu(a type of fruit) and other fruits and sell them on the roads at Changi Market."
Inference: This source also tells me that teenagers had not much free time as they had to support their famillies.
Evidence: "In the morning i would study. When i finished at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we would go pluck jambu."

Inference. This source tells me that 
teenagers in Singapore had to learn the Japanense as they had no choice during the Japanese occupation.


Evidence : There was a change of the education system as there are a malay and indian student seen writing the japanense langauge on the blackboard.
Inference: This source also tells me that students had to change their their uniforms from the british uniform to the Japanese uniform.

Inference: This source also tells me that teenagers,and others could have face a loss of their love ones.
Evidence:The sook ching operation was carried out for males aged 18-50 which means that they might have children or teenagers and they might go through a change after maybe their parents could havebeen killed.

Inference: This source tells me that teenagers have been treated poorly.
Evidence: The picture shows that many people had died from many types of dieases. This change how people lived as the British made sure people had sufficient food to eat but, the japanense did not provide enough food thus, this is why people died from many types of dieases and from starvation.
Inference: This source also tells me that there were no proper health treatment given to the teen
Evidence: There are many diseases being shown in the picture which suggests that the Japanese did not provide medical support to the people and hence, many types of diseases broke out within the community.

Inference:This source tells me that people had to live under the regime of fear. Teenagers would have to live in fear knowing that they might get caught by the Japanese.
evidence:During the occupation, violence, fear and intimidation prevailed.
Inference: This source also tells me that the Japanese were not good rulers.

Source 1 tells me that teenagers had to pluck fruits for their family or else, their family would have nothing to eat. Hence, there was a food shortage and people were encouraged to grow their own food.Source 2 tells me that when the British were
in control, all teenagers that were attending school had to learn the English language. But, when the Japanese took over Singapore, all teenagers had to stop learning English and had no choice but to learn Japanese. Source 3 tells me that teenagers had live in fear of their live as they had to attend Operation Sook Ching which can killed many innocent adults.Source 3 also supports the pointthat young children could have also lost their parents in the operation.Source 4 tells me that people had suffered from malnutrition as the Japanese did not provide enough food for the locals thus, thus led to malnutrition and other diseases. Source 4 also supports the point that the Japanese did not treat the people well by not providing food and a good environment for the locals to live in thus,a lot of diseases broke out within the locals resulting in many death.
Source 5 tells me that people could not live happily as the Kempati made the people live in fear by making the locals bow at them or be beaten and abused by them. Source 5 also support the point that the Japanese have no proper law or order as they did not treat the people fairly as they used fear to rule the people and not listening to the locals and also killing innocent people such as Operation Sook Ching.
