I think birds are intelligent because it explains in the article how they know to use tools . This shows if they can use tools that means they are smart, because some tools are hard to use. Also in the video it shows that they look around to see what they need to do. This means they can plan what they have to do and I think that is very intelligent.

In the article" bird Bain's? Not these birds!"states,"each bird used the stone dropping trick on its own"this proves that bird are smart because they figured out a way to drink the water.

I do consider birds intelligent. First, the article states, "The purpose of the study was to test the intelligence of rooks—previous experiments had shown that the birds are smart enough to use tools." This shows that they already know that these birds are in fact intelligent but they are testing it out for themselves. I strongly consider birds intelligent.

I consider birds to be intelligent. Their are many reasons why they are intelligent and I will give you an example. In the article it stated that birds were tested by scientists. They where tested that their was a worm in a cylinder jar filled with water. The bird put a rock in the water to make it rise to the height that the bird could reach the worm and eat it. This proves that birds have a good brain so they can get food. This explains that when birds want food and they see it they think of a something to get the food and that proves that they are intelligent because they need food to stay alive and they know how to get it.

In my opinion birds are smart for example they can use tools, hunt, and defend themselves. In "Bird Brains ? Not these birds!" States that "In the study, British scientists Christopher Bird and Nathan Emery exposed four rooks to a 6-inch-tall (15.2 centimeters) clear plastic tube. The tube contained water and a floating worm. The worm, however, was too far down for the birds to reach. All four birds used the stone-dropping trick spontaneously, without being prompted. In addition, they appeared to estimate how many stones they would need. The birds learned quickly that larger stones worked better to raise the water level. As soon as the worm was within reach, all four birds stopped dropping stones into the container and took the worm. Scientists then conducted the same experiment using sawdust instead of water. The birds quickly learned that stones would not raise the sawdust level in the same way the stones had raised the water level." Also in "Don't Mess With Mockingbirds" They also dressed differently on different days. The research team instructed the participants to approach a total of 24 mockingbird nests. They came from different directions at various times of day. For four days, the same student approached and touched a mockingbird nest and then walked away. The birds began reacting to the human in advance starting on day three. Some birds fled the nest. Others sounded alarms. Some mockingbirds started dive-bombing the researcher. You may be walking by a bird and think it's just minding its own business. But if there is a nest nearby, you are its business," said Douglas J. Levey. Levey, a professor in the zoology department of the University of Florida, led the mockingbird study." As you can see in both texts it states that birds are very intelligent.

I think birds are smart in many ways!!! According to the text, "Bird Brains? Not these Birds!" "The birds seemed to estimate how many stones they would need". This proves that birds are very smart with using tools. Also, these birds can do many other things like dropping stones in the water. They do this because they want the water in the cup. For example, the crow is trying to get as many rocks as it can so they can drop the rocks in the water to raise the water in the cup because they cannot reach the water. In addition, the scientists that were testing the crows put sawdust in the cup instead of the water. Therefore, when the crows put the rock in, it will not raise the sawdust. The birds were smart enough to figure that out!!!

Another reason why birds are smart is because if someone walks by the bird's nest one day and then the next day he/she walks by again the bird is likely to attack!!! They may do this because the bird thinks that you are going to hurt it. Birds are also very smart in many other ways too!!! From the text "Don't Mess with Mockingbirds", the text states that "scientists found that mockingbirds are able to learn to recognize people who have threatened their nests before". This proves that the mockingbirds are smart remembering things. For instance, the birds try to recognize the humans because they are trying to save their babies in the nest! These mockingbirds do this since they want their home and babies to be safe and to grow up to be a big bird.
To sum things up, mockingbirds and crows are a great example of a smart and talented bird!!!!!!!!!!
