         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Neil Amstrong</em></strong><br>Neil Armstrong was a NASA astronaut most famous for being the first person to walk on the Moon, on July 20, 1969. An accomplished test pilot, Armstrong also flew on the Gemini 8 mission in 1966. He retired from NASA in 1971 and remained active in the aerospace community. Armstrong died August 25, 2012, at age 82.<br><strong><em>Edwin F.Aldrin</em></strong><em><br></em>He is a NASA retired astronaut who piloted the Apollo 11 and he was the second person to walk on the moon. <br>Amstrong and F.Aldrin were  20 hours on the Moon's surface.</div><div><strong><em>Michael Collins</em></strong><br>He was the third crew member and pilot of the Apollo 11.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

The crew journeyed to the moon for four days, achieved lunar orbit, and separated the two spacecraft on July 20.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Space Race refers to the 20th-century competition between two Cold War rivals, the <strong>Soviet Union (USSR)</strong> and the <strong>United States (US)</strong>, for dominance in spaceflight capability. The technological superiority required for such dominance <mark>was seen </mark>as necessary for national security, and symbolic of ideological superiority. The Space Race spawned pioneering efforts to launch artificial satellites, uncrewed space probes of the Moon, Venus, and Mars, and human spaceflight in low Earth orbit and to the Moon.<br>During Kennedy's presidency John Glenn <mark>was put </mark>in orbit&nbsp;been the first American in the space.</div>]]></description>
