To promote social inclusion in our local communities, as all partner organizations wish to engage more women in the tech educational programs they offer,

 Embrace the equality that should exist in the workplace, 

Address the  need of IT literate people they want to increase the percentages of the employees men & women in their workforce. 

Outreach to these companies, that can be ambassadors of the project’s mission and but also new companies will be contacted, about “Women in Tech” benefits, in order to enter the MIGRACODE Network and become open in recruiting disadvantaged women 

Women’s participation in digital economy (promotion of role models)

Find ways to  motivating girls early on to explore STEM studies, stimulating the re-skilling or upskilling of women, mentoring schemes, or improving the image of ICT jobs.

Henriette Hettinga
After a career in management, Henriette decided to start from scratch by self-learning Python and Django in 2018. In March 2020 she graduated from the Ironhack bootcamp in Full Stack Web Development, making a drastic career change at a later age. She used her management and coding experience to start CodeWomen, first as a volunteer, and now as official project manager at MigraCode.

Shaminderjeet Kaur
With a Master's degree in Information Technology in Punjab, India, she arrived in Barcelona 1 year ago. To extend her CV and experience, she did a bootcamp at CodeOp, and to further strengthen her knowledge she is now a student at the current MigraCode classes. Eager to find work, she is experiencing first hand all the challenges that (migrant) women face in tech.

Anandamaya Arnó
Ananda came to Barcelona before the Covid crisis, and joined MigraCode in 2020 to continue learning after having to stop her Bachelor in Computer Science due to the situation in Venezuela. 2 weeks after starting at MigraCode, the Barcelona lockdown settled in and she had to do the complete bootcamp from a shared appartment with her family. Still she managed to finish, and even found a job as software engineer at FreeNow, where until today, she is a fulltime employee while teaching at MigraCode.

Marta Hormaechea
Marta has a wide range of experience in communications and fundraising, and combines her critical thinking and analytic mindset with a great passion for the nonprofit sector. With a background in Cultural Studies and Sociology, and a specialisation in gender topics, she is specifically motivated to support and empower women and the LGBTIQ+ communities and work towards a more inclusive society as a whole.

For football fans, visit the Camp Nou museum.

Definitely go visit the Sagrada Familia - it has progressed a lot and already looks amazingly beautiful.

Have a hike/walk around Tibidabo, just 6/7KM away from the city and with wonderful views over Barcelona.

Visit Montjuic, an amazing hill in the middle of the city with also great views and a cool museum about Catalan History.

Park Guell is Barcelona's pride as well, and definitely worth a visit and a long walk.

Chill in Park Ciutadella, very close to the venue of the training and a lovely park (and a Zoo, if you're interested).

Visit MOCO Museum: you won't find a more hip and cool museum than this.

Bar Principal: best tapas & beer bar in Barcelona - you will find me (Vincent) here a lot

Rincon de Galicia: also great tapas and close to the training venue

Acqua & Farina: great pizza place (confirmed by Italians) close to the sea

Any bar in Carrer Blai: a traditional Spanish food street with 'pica pica' food - small tapas that you can get from the bar.

Any Sandwichez bar: a Catalan chain of coffee bars where you can work all day on one coffee

Makekosa: great pizza again, and again proven by Italy..

Aromas: best breakfast/lunch bar out there.

Sol Soler: great tapas bar in Gracia, a lovely neighboorhood up North.
