The conflict is mainlly due to the fact that many water systems are located in many regions and countries, it's hard to get the agreement of every country unless they think the construction of dam is benefit to both side. The article mentioned "If two countries have agreed on water flow and distribution when there's a dam upstream, there usually is no conflict,". Although there is such case like Columbia River basin between the United States and Canada, others are not having the same agreement.

This research shows, the potential conflicts may occur between countries for the construction of new dams and its water divisions. Conflicts may occur since waters are multinational, which doesn’t belongs to just one country if the the river crosses in between regions or borders. Many countries have their reasons to flight for the water, for instance, country that has a poorer conditions have higher chances of arising conflicts; country with strong nationalism, political contentiousness, and poorer climate conditions, as well as economic instability and armed conflicts. The Middle East and Central Asia are some of the examples of countries with poorer conditions, and have the risk of conflict over the next 15-30 years. I agree more on the idea of mitigation. Oil had been a useful resources for humanity in modern era, especially for its usefulness in transportation. It may be difficult for humanity to bring a sudden halt to the use of oil, but scientist may start researching on new energy source. This would bring continuity to the future generations as the new source of energy can be more Eco-friendly and prosperous at the same time.  This would be the research and invention of renewable resources.
