Thank you for sparking my interest in birds. It has become one of my core hobbies and I can always fall back on it in rough times. You’ve become a core part of my journey into loving nature and the outdoors, along with connecting with people over this wonderful hobby.

The first real birding venture I went one was with you and Mary Ann and you sparked my imagination of what wonderful life we have on campus. From the brown creeper, to the white throated sparrows, to the Tennessee warbler, to the green heron: thank you for helping me fall in love with birding and helping me become a true member of the Cranbrook community. You’ve always checked in on me and made sure you’re present and ready to support me, even when I’m not your student. I hope retirement treats you incredibly well, you deserve all the best.

Thank you for always helping further my academic prowess and telling the best stories. We all will miss you everyday for years to come. I will always remember your class as being the best class in my freshman year. Everyone was going through a rollercoaster of emotions when you told us you were retiring. Happy retirement!
