These include physical media player such as VCRs, DVD Player and Blu-ray players, as well as digital media players such as the Roku Netflix player and order Netflix supported devices.<br><br>2. Video Game Consoles<br>Video game consoles play video game media. These include the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Some hand-held consoles such as the Playstation Portable can also function as a video input device with an optional video output cable. Also, some video game consoles can play other video media such as videos from a media server or streaming Netflix or Hulu.&nbsp;<br><br>3. Satelite / Cable Receivers<br>Satelite and cable receivers are set-top boxes (STB) that allow you to receive a decrypted video signal from your satelite or cable service provider. This allows you to receive broadcast TV and subscription channels as well as optional services such as video on-demand and DVR recordings.&nbsp;<br><br>4. Digital Cameras&nbsp;<br>Digital cameras can also function as video input devices. Most digital cameras, including still cameras and video cameras, include video output ports such as composite or HDMI ports; these ports allow you to connect the camera on TV to view the photos and videos from the camera. Many saw the potential of making the same improvements in recording television. Television ("video") signals are similar to audio signals. A major difference is that video signals use more <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwidth_(signal_processing)">bandwidth</a> than audio signals. Existing audio tape recorders could not practically capture a video signal. Many set to work on resolving this problem. Jack Mullin (working for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bing_Crosby">Bing Crosby</a>) and the BBC both created crude working systems that involved moving the tape across a fixed tape head at very fast speeds. Neither system saw much use. It was the team at <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampex">Ampex</a>, led by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ginsburg">Charles Ginsburg</a>, that made the breakthrough of using a spinning recording head and normal tape speeds to achieve a very high head-to-tape speed that could record and reproduce the high bandwidth signals of video. The Ampex system was called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadruplex_videotape">Quadruplex</a> and used 2-inch-wide (51 mm) tape, mounted on reels like audio tape, which wrote the signal in what is now called transverse scan. Later improvements by other companies, particularly <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony">Sony</a>, led to the development of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helical_scan">helical scan</a> and the enclosure of the tape reels in an easy-to-handle <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videocassette">videocassette</a> cartridge. Nearly all modern videotape systems use helical scan and cartridges. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videocassette_recorder">Videocassette recorders</a> used to be common in homes and television production facilities, but many functions of the VCR have been replaced with more modern technology. Since the advent of digital video and computerized video processing, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_disc">optical disc</a> media and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_video_recorder">digital video recorders</a> can now perform the same role as videotape.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br>3.1.6 DESCRIBE THE TYPES OF VIDEO PRODUCTION SYSTEM<br><br>&nbsp;Video production is the process of creating <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video">video</a> by capturing moving <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image">images</a> (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videography">videography</a>), and creating combinations and reductions of parts of this video in live production and post-production (<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_editing">video editing</a>). In most cases the captured video will be recorded on the most current <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_media">electronic media</a> such as SD cards. In the past footage was captured on <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_tape">video tape</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_to_disk_recording">hard disk</a>, or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid_state_storage">solid state storage</a>. Video tape capture is now obsolete and solid state storage is reserved for just that, storage. It is now distributed digitally in formats such as the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_Picture_Experts_Group">Moving Picture Experts Group</a> format (.mpeg, .mpg, .mp4), <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime">QuickTime</a> (.mov), <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Video_Interleave">Audio Video Interleave</a> (.avi), <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Media_Video">Windows Media Video</a>&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br> Corporate video production covers a wide range of purposes from corporate <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communication">Communication</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Training">Training</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education">Education</a>, videotaping conferences and conventions, products and services, and sales. A popular type of corporate shoot is known as the "<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candid_photography">candids</a>" or "happy-face" video, in which a multiple-day event is covered by a video crew, including speakers, break-out sessions, awards ceremonies and local recreational activities in which the conventioneers participate. An on-site editor then creates a short video presentation that is shown before the close of the convention. Many associations take advantage of the convention venue to gather interviews of their principals, setting up a green screen or other type of background in a secluded room. <br><br> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betacam">Betacam</a> SP video production was the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_television">broadcast television</a> standard from the early 1980s up until the beginning of the 21st Century when many <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_station">television stations</a> began using digital media to shoot, transmit and store <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_television">High-definition</a> (HD) footage. Two styles of producing video are ENG - <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_news-gathering">Electronic news-gathering</a> and EFP - <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_field_production">Electronic field production</a>. Television broadcast productions include <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_commercials">television commercials</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infomercial">infomercials</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newscast">newscasts</a>, entertainment shows, documentaries, news magazines, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitcom">sitcom</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_show">reality shows</a>. They may be distributed by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_syndication">broadcast syndication</a>. <br><br> Video production can be used at sporting, school, stage, wedding, church, and similar events to provide recordings of the events. Event video productions range in distribution from a wedding video that is custom made for a bride and groom and their immediate family and friends, to a dance recital where dozens to hundreds of videos are sold to individual dancers. Event video production can also be used to broadcast events live to viewers at home such as a press conference or concert. Video of live events can be sent by microwave or a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_truck">satellite truck</a> from the event location to a television studio in order to be broadcast. Event video usually refers to video made on an event, and has some sort of currency, for example news&nbsp;<br><br> Video production for distance education is the process of capturing, editing, and presenting educational material specifically for use in on-line education. Teachers integrate best practice teaching techniques to create scripts, organize content, capture video footage, edit footage using computer based video editing software to deliver final educational material over the Internet. It differs from other types of video production in three ways: 1. It augments traditional teaching tools used in on-line educational programs. 2. It may incorporate motion video with sound, computer animations, stills, and other digital media. 3. Capture of content may include use of cell phone integrated cameras and extend to commercial high-definition Broadcast quality cameras. The primary purpose of using video in distance education is to improve understanding and comprehension in a synchronous or asynchronous manner.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Lens<br><br></div><div>The lens on a video camera serves as the same function as a still camera's lens. It draws in light and captures the image at which the camera points. This telescopic piece can have multiple lenses within it. A number of dials on the tube will shift the lens positions by turning them, and this controls how the lenses focus the light they receive to clarify the picture.<br><br></div><div><br>Viewfinder<br><br></div><div>The viewfinder is directly connected to the lens and is meant to provide access to the image for the user. This can be a simple eye-sized window, or it may be a small pixel screen that folds into the camera when not in use; many models have both versions. Viewfinders also double as a video screens for playing back the recorded image.<br><br></div><div><br>Microphone<br><br></div><div>The lens picks up only the visual images for the camera, meaning this alone would create a silent picture. Video cameras, therefore, also include microphones that record sound in the area. The microphone is usually mounted next to the lens and pointing in the same direction so the audio and video are closely in sync.<br><br>Recorder<br><br></div><div>The recorder processes the images received by the lens and the sound from the microphone and records them to memory. On older analog cameras, this would record the image onto a magnetic tape within a cassette. Some cameras would take full VCR tapes, but others require miniature versions of these cassettes or other formats like Hi8. Digital cameras eliminate the need for cassettes. The camera instead records the image as a computer video file. In most cases, this file is in JPEG format.<br><br></div><div><br>Controls<br><br></div><div>The camera's main controls include the Power switch and the Record button. It will also include playback buttons such as Play, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward and Pause. The controls also include output ports to connect the camera for playback. All cameras should include the basic red/white/yellow RCA cables to connect to any playback machine, but they can also include USB or FireWire controls for connection to a computer.<br><br></div><div><br>Battery<br><br></div><div>Battery power is essential for camera use. Every camera is equipped with a rechargeable battery. Most batteries are lithium-ion based, and each is made and designed to work specifically with its camera model only. A full battery charge can usually take 12 hours, meaning an overnight charge will suffice.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
