I have experience making lesson plans for many different grades and subjects, but I would like to get more practice actually giving the lessons to a group of students. This semester, I will get to do that in my placement, and I am really excited to get more comfortable teaching children throughout this school year. In addition, I want to learn more about the assessments that are given to students. I know the children are assessed on reading and math multiple times a year. I would like to learn how the assessments are given and what the students are evaluated on.

I already have some experience working with children in the classroom from my fieldwork past semesters. This will help me be successful in my placement because I can use all the strategies that I have observed to help the students. I also am familiar with some of the curriculum used like Illustrative Mathematics and ARC. This will help me when I begin teaching lessons to my class.
