He turned down the option to establish a new bank of the United States and allowed state banks to freely loan paper money to anyone who asked for it. He caused inflation to rise due to making every payment for federal government lands to be in gold or silver. That lead to the Panic of 1837. Jackson's biggest accomplishment was paying off national debt which was $58 million.
