Whole Language may seem more enjoyable but it does not give students the foundation they need.  This is scientifically proven.

The state of Mississippi requires all new teachers to take 2 classes and pass a test about phonics to become a teacher.  They started the Barksdale Reading Institute at the University of Mississippi.
