Reading this story opened my eyes to how vulnerable society is today and how easily false stories spread. Here are the three things that I took from this story and they are:
1. I was surprised to see how long it took a lie to spread all across twitter only 10 hours as to where the truth takes 60 hours.
2. How quick are we to judge a story or person instead of researching it before we comment on it or resend it back through social media.
3. I did not know that there were "bots" that tried to catch the false stories before they spread. Let's not forget that there was a website created called Factcheck.org because of lies.
