         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the 20's the role of women greatly changed. It was a direct result of the things they did during the war, whether it be nursing, or taking care of the home. During the 20's the women of the time greatly increased their working percentage. Once the 1920's started all women had the right to vote.  Plus, there were a type of women called flappers, which were smoking in public, and doing more outgoing things. </div>]]></description>

Although you could either hear the games, sometimes see them on TV, or even just go to them, they never had as big of a following as they had in current day. Sports like professional boxing and horse racing were not widely spread because of all the issues with gambling. The main popular sport at the time, was baseball. They were used just to have some coverage for homeless people. “Hooverville” was a shanty town made popular among the homeless people. They used it just so they could have a place to stay. They served soup and bread to the people. It was helpful because the people could get water, and food, and they were able to give them out to large numbers of people at a time.
