hearing the birds chirping in the morning on a spring day. It is one of the first signs that spring is on its way and winter is coming to an end. There is actually a small family of birds right outside my window with baby birds chirping, it almost sounds like they are right in my house. I like to hear the owls hoot outside and it is just a wonderful start to the day.

When I was much younger the first concert I ever went to was a concert for Jason Crabb, one of my mom’s favorite Christian musicians, and after the concert I met him and he actually gave me his guitar pick and I always thought that was really cool.

My favorite songwriter is Hozier at the moment. My favorite artist always rotates as I discover new musicians and my music taste or mood changes but as of right now he is one of my favorite artists. He has a beautiful voice and I find that his songs are calming, fun, creative, and I love to sing his songs as they fit my own voice.

The instruments I play:

I have a tendency to pick up things but never quite finish them so there are multiple instruments that I started to learn how to play but I never continued with them. So I don't know if that really counts but I can play a little bit of each: guitar, ukulele, piano, and baritone horn. I picked up these instruments and learned a little bit about them but ultimately the only instrument I ever stuck with was my voice.

There is nothing more invigorating than standing anxiously backstage, waiting to go on to perform. Everyone is all jittery and then you get to walk on stage with the lights beaming and the audience watching you. And as you are so nervous to mess up, somehow you perform perfectly.
