1.) Allegan city is the capital of Allegan County.
2.) Allegan county consists of these cities: Allegan, Douglas, Fennvile, Holland, Otsego, Plainwell, Saugatuck, South Haven, Wayland. 
3.) Allegan's county fair pulls in the majority of our tourist revenue.
4.) Allegan's county fair includes a venue for live performances which often feature popular artists. This year we are having Pentatonix and 5 Seconds of Summer.
5.) The Allegan County Fair Parade always includes the Allegan High School marching bands and several floats made by AHS sports teams and extracurricular clubs. 
6.) Allegan is considered a rural community so agriculture is a huge part of the physical atmosphere as well as of citizen's lives.
7.) Related to Allegan's focus on agriculture is the lovely fact that we hold a farmer's market sale downtown every Sunday afternoon for the sale of fresh produce. 
8.) Allegan, MI is unfortunately the second highest county in the state of Michigan for methamphetamine usage, so rehab programs are prevalent in the area.
