The reference is from the Facehuggers in the movie, which were alien life forms that attached themselves to a victim's face and controlled them. The artist is trying to convey in this way that phones are controlling our lives, and that we are always attached to them. This brilliant reference is made by the author to make his message known and compare phones to something that people would understand easier. The Facehugger would eventually fall off the victim's face, but not before planting a larvae in the human, which would then turn into a Xenomorph and erupt from the body of the infected person, killing them in the process.
