The artist's idea behind this image was derived from Ridely Scott's Alien. The reference is from the Facehuggers in the movie, which were alien life forms that attached themselves to a victim's face and controlled them. The artist is trying to convey in this way that phones are controlling our lives, and that we are always attached to them. This brilliant reference is made by the author to make his message known and compare phones to something that people would understand easier. The Facehugger would eventually fall off the victim's face, but not before planting a larvae in the human, which would then turn into a Xenomorph and erupt from the body of the infected person, killing them in the process. Maybe the artist was also trying to say that phones would eventually try and destroy our lives, and maybe even plant a bigger problem in them, just like the Facehugger.

I believe the artist's intention was to show us how the newest generations are totally into our phones more than we are actual people. Older generations understand what it's like to actually feel something for someone, how nice it is to love and hold someone but new generations just go into relationships to make themselves look good on social media.

The artist was trying to say that that the more advanced technology becomes the more people become attached to their phones or laptops or any electronic device. As you can see in the picture the woman has the laptop tied around her head, I think that by that the author was trying to say that she’s so distracted by her laptop that she can’t see the world around her. Since she has the laptop tied around her face and it’s covering her she’s not able to actually look around and see the things going on around her because she’s so distracted. In the third paragraph it says “People walking down the street with eyes on their phones, bumping into others, tripping over or crashing into obstacles” this proves that people are so distracted by their electronic devices that they can’t even take a second to look up from their device and look at the real world and look at what’s going on around them.

I think the author's intention in making this picture was to show that soon, people will be too consumed with their phones to even know what a book is. Even the kids in this picture have phones when there’s no reason for them to. We are all too caught up in what’s going on on our phones to notice what’s happening in our everyday lives. We don’t think about anything anymore but posting on instagram, spnapchating the latest thing going on in our lives, or how low our battery is. We in to all wake up from this controlling trance technology has put us in and actually live a little. Maybe even read a book from space.
