In the episode, while it was made very clear that the way ICE (especially the agents at the border) went about dealing with illegal immigrants was wrong, the episode did not paint the agents as bad guys. They instead attempted to show that the policies being carried out were wrong and rather cruel at times. As an immigrant myself, I can barely even imagine the experience many people go through living in fear of being deported. While I'm all in support for catching criminals, it felt like some ICE agents were just trying to keep up numbers. Hearing how agents were telling children and parents they were never going to see each other again was horrifying. I can appreciate there are agents who are aware of what's going on, but I can't help but feel they're numb to what's going on, I mean they have to. And I can't fully blame them, but that doesn't fully exonerate them from the institution they're partaking in. As of now, children, humans are being locked up in cages with little caution for COVID 19. There are allegations of abuse and hysterectomies. Despite all my biases, I can appreciate the director's choice of showing the human side of both sides. I won't say all ICE agents are evil or all deportees and immigrants are innocent, but there is human side of this whole problem being grossly neglected. Instead they were blaming everything on the policies that they had to carry out, saying how at first they would target immigrants a crime background, but now target people who immigrated illegally and if there happens to be more at the scene then they'll count them as "collaterals" and take them in. Before I watched it I thought that ICE was gonna be the bad guys and there were what the people were terrified of. in my class we had gone through ways to deal with those detainment officers, but after watching this documentary or show i realized that the abuse of power wasn't ICE but rather the policies that are being passes. When the instructor talked about the uncertainty of their job saying they might only have two hours to respond to a change in policies. While many may thing thats enough but we don't the true life of these officers and how they have to respond. I think the main reason why the director and writers had put this on Netflix was to show the true life of an immigrant being taken and the laws that are changing over time. As one of my peers said they talked about the criminals were targeted and now everyone is targeted. ICE is usually drawn out to be the bad guys. As I continued to watch the documentary they showed that ICE members are just trying to do their jobs. There are some ICE agents that are there just for the money and it is not fair to the immigrants who are terrified of getting deported. This episode doesn't necessarily classify the ICE as evil or heartless, but as people with the mindset that this is their job. While some ICE seem passionate about their job without any remorse, others show understanding, towards these people who are being deported and separated from their families. The director wants to bring to light the inhumane treatment that immigrants faced such as children being separated from their families and put in facilities that are not necessarily child friendly. It was a film about a father and his son. The father was his only parent and was trying to make a living for him and his son. He works as a laborer can't drive since he's an illegal immigrant without a license. He gets rides from a friend I would say but the friend decides to go back to Mexico so the father doesn't have a ride to take him to work so he decides to buy a truck because it was best for him and his son. He offers a man a ride since him and that man were the only ones that didn't get picked up when trying to find someone to take them to work. So the man got into the car and the man stole his truck. He decided to find the man and his truck. They eventually did and he had to steal it back from a dealer since the man sold the car. He stole it back with his son and got caught by the police and sadly got deported. The main point of this film was to tell people how immigrants struggle and what can happen if they do something like that if they get caught. It was a really sad film to watch. This mainly talks about how in America there is freedom for anyone. America isn't what it seems at first, but with time you will be able to understand. It is clear that -most- of these agents do not care about the well being of these illegals and neither does our president. They laugh and don't look at them as people but as another number to add to their book of achievements. The zero-tolerance policy is allowing ICE to detain over double what they did before Trump's reign. It was so hard to watch grown men break down about their babies, and the lead agent of ICE being unable to say that it is inhumane how the children and adults are treated. It is human nature to see what they want to see or get out of a Movie or Video-after all most people are bias in more ways than one, with that being said...I wish someone inside "The 26 Building in New York", would point  his/her finger to the poster on the wall! _ to remind those Agents of what ICE should stand for:
ICE: Integrity; Courage; Excelence the "core values of this branch of the DHS.

Everybody else in the teams shown, reminded me of the brain-washing that goes on in all Law Enforcement Agencies in America!
Now as far as what the argument of the show's producer is -well like I said people see what they want to see in a show, and "What I chose to see is" that the producer's argument is that DHS as an agency, lacks integrity! and practices [immigration] enforcement similar to the one practice in Auschwitz.
Trump's policies are not dissimilar to Nazy -Germany's policies, trying to brain wash people to believe his statements.  Throughout Episode One of Immigration Nation the  footage only shows ONE  black person and ONE white individual in the detention pen everybody else was  from several Latin American Countries and ONE from the Caribbean region, which clearly contradicts the female and male team leaders-agents statements that they don't pick, and choose who to pick up (arrest). 
It is my humble opinion that America like all other great civilizations such as the Romans will cease to exist, and its demise will be the arrogance, and ego of all those American people that like Trump, they think that they are the best at everything, and only They should be allowed to called themselves Americans -only they should exist!
"A wise man once said: The men that forgets about their past...are condemned to relive it".
My final words are that this new generation will be the change, they are smarter than all others that preceded them.

The film was about families reconnecting at the US/Mexico borders after being separated. The filmmakers capture the long awaited reunification with the help of the Border Network for Human Rights. Over 300 families were reunited and were able to finally see their loved ones after being denied asylum, deportation, or separated for several years. It was a bittersweet moment for me to watch. It was a beautiful moment to see families reunite, but then the guards called time and everyone had to go back to their sides. Three minutes isn't long enough for families to reconnect. I wanted to punch some of those ICE officers honestly...of course that would solve nothing though. It makes me so mad to hear some of these ICE officers say that they are "law enforcement officers" so they simply have to "follow orders" and "uphold the law" when the orders and the law are completely inhumane. All they have to do is quit! I believe that these ICE officers have been brainwashed by the money that they earn, so they no longer see an immigrant as another human, they see him/her as a paycheck.

Joking, taking phone videos, and talking about how excited you are to "get out on the field" to deport someone in front of their family is disgusting on every level. I can't imagine how they can live with themselves after this kind of behavior, but I'm guessing that these officers become desensititzed from it all after doing it for so long.
