The power of society

Power of society is when there are other people in uniform or higher position and know that their work is to make the community adhere and follow rules and regulations. For instance, we are driving towards the stop light that is green but turning yellow, we drive faster but if we see the traffic officer nearby we abide by the rules and stay and wait till it turns green again. Another example is when your mom gives you permission to go out but to be home by certain hours, we listen to our parents and be home by that time because there may be consequences if we don't abide by the rules given. Mother will be like no phone, no going out for a period of time. Those are ways mothers and traffic officers have power in society. Also, if we are driving and it is over the speed limit and we see a police car, we tend to slow down and obey the law because we don’t want any penalties or tickets. These are just simply ways of power of society.

My personal view of the power of society is that these people are set in place so that things run smoothly because if these people were not set in place the town or place would be a disaster. The rules and regulations are there to help guide people to make betterment for the country. In the case of mothers, they put rules for their children because they want their child to be a better version of themselves and don’t want their children to make the same mistakes they did when they were younger. Especially since most youths are very indecisive of the correct choices they should make and there are no consequences that may hunt them for the rest of their lives. So my personal views on the power of society is a great thing if it is for positivity and betterment.

Gender- Gender is divided into two different sections male and female especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. As a boy u should play with cars and not dolls, females are to play dolls and use dresses. The role of a male is much less complicated than the female, due to the fact that the females are highly over protected by partners. Girls must not mingle themselves with boys but instead they themselves clean at all times and look presentable. Boys are allowed to play rough and have enough freedom as they wish because they can defend themselves more than females. Boys are the ones who would protect the females when they sense a sign of danger or threat. From a young are females are told how to speak and sit when around people they usually have their feet crossed at the bottom, and boys simply just cross their feet or sit up straight

Are men the only ones who should be the breadwinner in their household or are women allowed to share this important role? Often times it is said that men are the most powerful humans but we must also give credit to out beautiful hard working women as well. From pass generations we have seen that women are only allowed to be housewife’s and the men would do hard labor work, now we can see that time has change and our women are out working and being breadwinners themselves. We as men always want to take the spot light and leave the women at the back as our background but now the women have stepped up and shown us that they too can work and not be afraid to get dirt under their nails and feet. It is said to be that women are less powerful and this impacts their state of mind.

Every individual has his or her own role to play in a society. A role is determined by what we do n how we do it. They are three different types of role and they are role strain, role set and role conflict. We are born to play a role and we all have different roles from one another. Roles also is a behavior that may also give an individual a social status. The majority of us have different roles and some would be son, father, uncle etc.

Role strain occurs when an individual cannot meet the demands of their social role. People experience role conflict when they find themselves pulled in various directions as they try to respond to the many statuses they hold. .
