His first Inauguration was on Tuesday, January 20, 1981. It was at the West Front of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. This was the first inauguration to be held on the building's west side. The reason this was historically significant was because in this Inauguration address, when America was a troubled economy, he said, "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem." He brought up that the government was apart of the issue and they were not helping. It Impacted Americans because he reminded us that the Federal Government did not create the Nation, the Nation made the government. It showed that he knew the real issue which meant he knew how to fix it, or at least work towards fixing it. These policies focused on conservative economic values. Regan made policies to reduce the federal government’s reach into the daily lives of Americans (which meant they were less involved), including tax cuts intended to spur growth. He also advocated for increases in military spending, reductions in certain social programs, and measures to remove regulations from business. When he took office, he worked to reduce the size and influence of the federal government, which he thought would influence private investment. This impacted the people because it was giving them more freedom and reducing the amount of power the government had. This case affected the US because it was a soldier that fought for us, and the people that started this were insensitive and did not care. This made them upset because the first amendment stopped anything from happening to the people in the wrong. One group was led by Sony Corporation and Philips Electronics NV and the other group was led by Toshiba Corporation and Time Warner Inc. This is historically significant because it changed how Americans watched movies forever. To this day, we still use these to watch certain movies. It impacted Americans by improving their movie experiences. How they viewed them and heard them all changed on the day these DVDS were made.
