         <description><![CDATA[<p>Definition: An abrasion is a wound caused by the</p><p>skin scraping or rubbing against a rough surface,</p><p>leading to the loss of the top layer of skin.</p><p>Initial care: Clean the wound with mild soap</p><p>and water to remove any dirt or debris,</p><p>Apply an antibiotic ointment to prevent</p><p>infection, and cover it with a sterile dressing.</p><p>Post care: Keep the area clean and dry, Change</p><p>the dressing daily until the wound heals, and</p><p>no sutures are required unless the wound is deep,</p><p>but seek medical advice if it becomes red,</p><p>swollen, or painful, indicating infection.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Definition: A laceration is a cut or tear in the skin</p><p>that can range from superficial to deep, potentially</p><p>damaging nerves, muscles, and other tissues.</p><p>Initial care: Control bleeding by applying direct</p><p>pressure, clean the wound with sterile water</p><p>or saline solution, and apply a sterile bandage.</p><p>Post care: Seek medical evaluation for</p><p>deeper wounds to determine if sutures,</p><p>staples, or adhesive strips are needed, and</p><p>keep the wound clean and dry, and watch for</p><p>signs of infection like redness or discharge.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Definition: A puncture wound occurs when a</p><p>sharp object (such as a nail or needle) penetrates</p><p>the skin, leaving a small but deep wound.</p><p>Initial care: Clean the wound thoroughly with soap</p><p>and water, but do not close it, as puncture wounds</p><p>are prone to infection, and apply an antibiotic</p><p>ointment and cover with a sterile dressing.</p><p>Post care: Monitor for signs of infection (redness,</p><p>swelling, pus), Referral for tetanus shot if the wound</p><p>is caused by a rusty object or if vaccinations are not</p><p>up to date, and Deep punctures may require medical</p><p>attention for cleaning and possible antibiotics.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Definition: An avulsion is when a chunk of tissue is</p><p>torn away from the body, either partially or</p><p>completely, often resulting from trauma or accidents.</p><p>Initial care: Apply direct pressure to control</p><p>bleeding, Gently clean the wound if possible</p><p>and cover it with a sterile dressing, If a part</p><p>is completely torn off, wrap it in a sterile</p><p>gauze, place it in a clean plastic bag, and</p><p>keep it on ice while seeking emergency care.</p><p>Post care: Immediate medical attention is required</p><p>for possible sutures or surgery and Follow-up care</p><p>will include wound cleaning, possible antibiotic</p><p>therapy, and monitoring for infection.</p>]]></description>
