<title>Morgan and I discussed &quot;fixed mindset&quot; as being the belief--typically held by a student--that he/she &quot;can&#39;t learn&quot; and that his/her intelligence and learning ability are pre-determined and cannot be changed. Students with fixed mindsets avoid challenges, constructive feedback, and anything that feels uncomfortable because it doesn&#39;t come easily. This mindset also reveals a lot about the student&#39;s own insecurities, anxieties, and fears about themselves (not just their own learning).</title>

<title>Pat, Fixed mindset relates to the fact that an individual believes that he or she cannot do something and therefore cannot move on. Has a fear of failure before he or she even begins. A fixed mindset believes that he or she will never know how do do something and therefore there is no reason to even try. He or she waits to be told what to do, fears taking risks.</title>
