Last Day

today was my family and I's LAST DAY of unhealthy eating! We "celebrated" by going to Burger King (The BEST place to go before becoming 'vegetarians')and then had a nice dessert to finish off the day. This whole week we have been mentally and physically preparing ourselves for a no-meat lifestyle... so we've been trying to eat a tad healthier, by having a salad or something as a meal, but today was the big transition. This goes along with the vegetarian thing... but we're trying to eat healthier in general. That means not as much cookies or candy for dessert. Instead having popcorn or a banana and peanut butter popsicle. Because "technically" you can still eat candy if you are a vegetarian...but we're trying to eliminate that as well. Along with our changed eating habits, I have decided to start working out more. I have been doing a light workout every evening...and I'm trying to transition into doing one in the morning as well to start off my day right! I'll post my workout plan in a separate post. I'll keep y'all updated on how tomorrow goes!!

Recently, I've been trying to workout a tad bit more than I used to. I found a great workout that is easy, fast, and works every main body category. Here is the full version:

5-10 min warm-up stretch

ABS:
crunches-10x
reverse crunches-10x
straight-leg crunches-10x
split-leg crunches-10x
(forwards and backwards...for a total of 80 crunches)

ARMS:
pushups-3 sets of 10
arm lifts-3 sets of 10
tricep dips-until you feel the burn!

LEGS:
lunges-3 sets of 15 on both legs
squats-3 sets of 15

BOOTY:
fire hydrants- 3 sets of 10 each leg
hip raises- 3 sets until you feel the burn (about 15 for me)

5-10 minute stretch cool down

This is the full version that I do when i don't have any activities that day. I play soccer, and the schedule can range from 4-7 days a week, so i don't want to stress my body. on days that i have off, i like to do this full workout. If i had soccer 6 days a week, i usually do the modified version, which i will post next!

In my latest post, i shared my full workout plan. As mentioned, i have soccer quite a few days a week. When i do have soccer, i like to do a small workout to exercise all body categories. here is my modified version:

5-10 min warm-up stretch

ABS:
crunches-10x
reverse crunches-10x
straight-leg crunches-10x
split-leg crunches-10x
(just forwards, for a total of 40 crunches)

ARMS:
guy pushups-10
arm raises:
up and down-30 sec
out and in- 30 sec
up and middle- 30 sec
girl pushups-10

LEGS:
(on soccer days I don't do legs because I don't want to overwork them)
lunges-15 on both legs
squats-15
BOOTY:
fire hydrants-10 each leg
hip raises- until you feel the burn (about 15 for me)

5-10 minute stretch cool down

That's it for my modified version! I like it because it still works all the core groups, but doesn't overwork them if you have been semi-active already that day.
