Though our peace project technically is not yet successful since it has not been implemented yet. It is successful in a way that we young peacebuilders were able to plan out and make a peace project that was accepted by the YPA board. The tips I can give is to always work as a team and focus on what the community needs and wants to have rather than giving them what you want them to have. - Salunat, 10Amethyst, GH

Yes, I have. Firstly, a successful project needs a competent leader. In order for a plan to be conducted and executed properly, the members need not only each other, but a responsible leader as well. Secondly, they need a plan. Members should construct a detailed plan of everything from steps to materials needed. Lastly, a project will be successful if it has good intentions. It needs to have a positive impact and effect, and should create good change in our society. Otherwise, it should not be done at all.

- D. Carroll / 10E / FV

I think youths like me should be more informed or involved about this projects. I also believe that if youths will start to be aware about the different social issues, they will be aware on how can they can contribute. I also think that even if its just a small gesture it can create Positive impact to the community, to Our country and to the world.

Yes and to be involve in a successful project feels so great. So tips for having a successful project is to have a great leader. A great leader must consist of having other than the basic skills needed. Another tip is to have great followers. The "followers" or the members must always contribute greatly at the project so that the outcome would be good. Another tip is that everyone including the leader must have a unified agreement because if a group has a successful project they had a unified answers to a certain problem/work.

OBMC SA, 10E-KENNETH DE LA CUESTA

Try and reach out to everyone involved in the project and form a network of communication, that way each part of the project knows what the other parts are doing and if need be can adjust, suggest ideas, or point out problems that conflict with other parts of the project.

FV10E, Zac

I was involved in a successful project called the Trash to Trees program, which my class, 9-Jade, conducted last school year (2021-2022). I am proud to say that we were able to raise Php 4,654. As the class mayor, I was in charge of overseeing the different committees, and my number one tip is to practice effective communication. By organizing the committees, assigning their respective leaders, and trusting them, we were able to speed up the process. I also recommend giving specific tasks with enough time for the committees, while checking up on their progress every once in a while.

Since this was a class project, it was important to stay patient and respectful throughout the whole process. Despite the fact that we were still in full online class and so many students resided outside of Metro Manila or outside of the Philippines, we learned to adapt to their situations while still including them fully in the project. Our motto was to "leave no man behind"!

Garcia, Athena (10-Topaz, GH)

The main thing I can say about successful projects is that people have a positive mental attitude. In my time advocating stuff I always had a smile on my face. Another thing I can say is that everyone works together to strive for the same goal. In the trash to trees program, all our classmates worked together to get the best possible result and we succeeded.

-Paul Desiongco, 10-Onyx

Finding something for everyone to do is very important and being able to get productive work done should be the goal. Therefore, having everyone know the game plan as well as the purpose for their part is important as everyone's little efforts will combine to make a great outcome.

I will be honest, it wasn't easy at all since this project during the pandemic. It was so hard to communicate with people online and it was really hard to plan. But the tip that I can give is to not give up but keep on going until you make it. Even if people or even your mind says that this is impossible, we shouldn't let that linger us. Rather, we must prove those people and even our thoughts wrong. Nothing is impossible! Keep on persevering until we get to the finish line. I was working on the food kit because I think people deserved to eat more. I don't have any tips I can think of but one thing I can say is: "There are many people out there who can't eat. Since you're one of those lucky people who can eat, don't waste food and think about how grateful you should be."
-Carlos Montano, 10-Topaz

I'm unsure if I've ever been in a successful project, but one thing's for certain when I say that people shouldn't expect success to come so quickly. Success—whether you believe it or not—is a gradual process and is something you keep on building even when it reaches its peak. Others may have their peaks in success faster than you, and that's okay. Don't let others' fast achievements discourage you from continuing to reach for your own.

- Amper, 10S

Depends on what counts as a successful project. It's my understanding that YPA likely means to refer to group projects as it is necessary to facilitate peace within the group in order to be able to move forward with the project. I have been in group projects that didn't result badly, but I wouldn't really go so far as to say that they were very successful -- however, I can say that they met their goals and filled the requirements. The number one thing that's important in these types of projects is communication. Often, a lack of this is what results in downfall. A group cannot exist in any way other than nominally if there is no communication between its members.

- Dela Cruz, Kei 10S FV

I have been a part of successful projects, especially in school. The recent ones I remember were “Trash to trees” and “Humanitarian Aid” projects during grade 9. I was one of the leaders, and we were actually commended for doing a great job. As for tips, it can’t only be the leader that does everything, each member should also be doing their part. The leader should also know when how to listen to their members because they may have great ideas to offer and the leader isn’t and won’t always be right. They should all learn from each other and learn how to work with one another. - Mencias, 10A GH

I have been involved in a successful project which is the "Trash to Trees" and "Humanitarian Aid". This happend last school year when I was Grade 9. The tips I have from this experience is to manage the team's time wisely and to carefully communicate with each other. What I mean by carefully is that we need to let others talk and express their opinions as well. If we have disagreements then it is best to talk about it.

- Brozas A. 10GH Amethyst

During that program, we were given a span of weeks to collect our trash and donate them to the school/junk shops to be sold and/or recycled. With the money earned, our school helped the funding for the growth of many saplings. I learned that even the smallest things could benefit the world if we use them properly, so I will definitely bring that lesson to mind until I retire because it will help me bring success to my future goals.

10A Francisco

Although my past classmates and I have already graduated from the school a long time ago, we still continue to donate our old books, toys, and clothes to this program up to this day. With this being said, a tip I would have in successfully implementing a peace project is to make sure we are consistent and to make sure the project is sustainable and ever going.

- Maxinne Macairan, 10-Onyx

There was a project I was involved in back in grade 9. It was the Trash-to-Trees program if I recall correctly. The project called for us students to gain funds by accumulating our trash which we'd sell to a junkshop. Said funds would be used to purchase saplings that would be planted in the hopes of improving the environment.

This project re-iterated the importance of planning out a course of action and communicating in order to achieve your goals. The process of gathering, sorting and storing the trash was tedious and issues with sorting out the recyclables and finding a junkshop did little to help. Still, profits were made.

Estanislao, GH 10A

These projects were successful because almost everyone in the class and other students from other campuses were able to comply with helping plant trees using recycled materials and to help the people in need. Sadly I don't have much experience in this field, but I'll say this: When you come by or are told there is a program where people help other people such as charity or community gardening, contribute as much as you can It'll make for good experience and help out with social networking.
