I used to feel embarrassed of my ADHD behaviors, which neurotypical people often found annoying or weird. I would cry easily, get suddenly enthusiastic and then super quiet the next second, and I was indecisive. I felt like I was the only one who struggled with these things.

But then I found this ADHD support group. It was a safe space where I could talk about my feelings and struggles without judgment. I learned that my ADHD behaviors are not weird or wrong, they are just different. I also learned how to manage my ADHD.

Hearing other members of the support group share their experiences was incredibly validating. I realized that I wasn't alone, and that there were other people who understood what I was going through. This made me feel included and supported.

The hosts of the support group, Suhana and Abshad, have been incredibly supportive and helpful. They have guided us on our journey of understanding and managing our ADHD.

Su was non-judgemental, she genuinely heard my side of the story. It was really vulnerable to put out some parts of me and she helped me look at those parts from a whole new perspective. I approached the session with a heavy heart, but left feeling light, breezy and calm. She also shared her observations on how my energy and focus varied throughout the sessions, something I hadn't given much thought, myself. The best part is that everyday activities trigger the lessons we learned and my mind automatically helps me find some way to make sense of what's going on. I was a mess before the sessions, now the mess is starting to make sense!! We had exciting games and activities in the mix too.
I found some really cool, nice people in the batch and I am oh-so-glad I decided to take a step to understand myself better! <3

Su also helped me with extra resources to continue on my healing journey.

Love and appreciation to Ashok for being an excellent support and guide throughout the sessions.

Su and Abu are such a fun, cool duo!
Love them for all the efforts :)

Each session was an exploration one level deep toward my inner self. The amount of clarity I received through adult therapy group is immense. The platform was so non judgemental and understanding. Thank you shibili ma'am and abshad sir for this initiative. Grateful to this forever!! ❤️🫂

I was part of the first ADHD therapy group and boy was it AWESOME! I met so many VERY cool ADHD people and one pretty cool neurotypical person (shoutout to you, Ashok!). During those sessions, I felt SO seen. I used to look forward to them each week. It was both fun and informative. Dr Abshad and Shibilih Suhanah are SO passionate and AMAZING at what they do. Rest assured, you are in great hands!
All my life, a sense of loneliness has plagued me. I have felt like an alien whose spaceship crashed down on earth like Superman. But for 2 hours every week I got to feel less alone. Because I was with the other aliens who crash landed with me on that spaceship. And truly, the sense of community and friendship is what made those sessions SO dear to me. I was able to be vulnerable with them in a way I hadn’t till then in life because they all understood me. I didn’t have to translate my neurodivergent experiences into a neurotypical language because we all understood and communicated in the beautiful language of neurodivergence. If you are someone with ADHD (self-diagnosed, officially diagnosed or even just questioning if you are ADHD), I would highly recommend this. 11/10!

The duo is a powerhouse of adhd brains who has been there, done that, seen all and is still and always on learning new paths and strategy! I especially enjoy their banter but also the vulnerability they both showcase during the workshop.

I learned so much through this workshop (eventhough I thought I already know a lot about adhd)

But most importantly, what you won’t get anywhere else no matter how much money or time you are willing to invest, is that you get to meet your tribe ❤️

As a person with ADHD traits, it was through this ADHD group therapy that I understood how and why it can be difficult to do even basic stuff like cleaning or making bed or arranging or organizing or even drinking water. And I'm most thankful to Shibili and Abshad who helped me realize how I can learn to restructure my lifestyle, that is inclusive of my traits with proper understanding and a lot more compassion. It has helped me in acknowledging and accepting me as myself.

Also, to get a group of ADHD people with varying traits together, then again dividing them into smaller groups, make them interact, do activities, talk and hold accountability of each other is an experience that goes beyond the words of gratitude. I'm honored to be a part of this :)

As a person whose fears of death and loneliness got really real and scarier this year, meeting up at least once every week with you people has created a sense of security in me. I have understood that to be part of a space where I'm not shamed or shunned for the person I am was the community I have been looking for and I'm most grateful for helping me find my tribe :*)

I have realized that not being part of the 'charm circle' can have detrimental effects on my mental health, yes. And trying to fit into this circle has never helped me accept myself as I am. It shamed me for asking for help and labeled me as 'too much'.

As a neurodivergent person who has found a safe space, a community in this group therapy, I understand the heaviness in your chest or why you cannot reach out for help. If you're also a person who's traversing a lonely path fighting a lonely battle, I assure you… there's hope and there's help available.

Some positives which I found :

- Unlike individual therapy, its a different experience of group therapy.

- Its online, hence convenient for introverted/ anxious personalities.

- Meet people who share similar experiences as you do.

- Learn from fellow participants about how they cope with their conditions.

~ The facilitators deserve credit for taking up the responsibility and challenge of enabling neurodivergent individuals for a better life. ~

Writing this journal entry down at 4am, and uploading it as it is so I don't overthink it and change it too much. Adding a bit more to it now.

I have a warm glowy after-feeling from the sessions. I've always felt the need to find kindred spirits but most interactions with neurotypicals put me off or I find the connections to be surfacy. This group facilitation allowed us to peak deep into other souls and allowed me to feel less awkward and apologetic about my own journey.

I am less weird about enjoying my solitude in public spaces now.

There is less competition in my interactions and a bit more humanity in SEEING others.

This group has also added to the process of liking the person I see in the mirror and accepting her with all her quirks and all of her untemplated behaviors.

I've always sought out meaningful experiences with fellow humans and I'm very grateful for this space that allowed us to be vulnerable with each other and share our lives and problem solve together.

Rajeef's session on work lives stood out to me and was immensely helpful because that is where I am struggling most at the moment. I was able to implement bits and pieces of organisation, calendar and communication tricks. I was also glad to be able to contribute to Viraj's dilemmas about getting back to full time work. Wishing you all the love, luck and strength to make that decision Viraj!

Apart from Su and Abu, Shaanika too has added multifold to my vocabulary and phrases related to neurodivergence. I am envious and admiring of her understanding and acceptance of herself.

Su & Abu are truly a force that honestly made Sunday mornings so much lighter and worth it to wake up early. Excited about learning and people, incredibly compassionate, super creative and mindful to always include everyone - regardless of how much you're able to speak in the session there was always space to feel belonged in some degree by making the process super inclusive and open to change. All the sessions were packed with info, insights, strategies, and room to wiggle around. Would defy like for the grp to be of longer duration though, so the idea of monthly catch ups sound good to maintain continuity. Thanks to all the members too for the depth into your life, your willingness to open it up for everyone in the group, and for the care :)

I was slightly skeptic when I was signing up for the Abu and Suh’s group therapy but after doing these sessions I can confidently say it was the best decision I took. I understand myself and my ADHD better now. I loved their approach to ADHD mental health and therapy in general. The sessions taught me many things and made a lot of changes to how I view my ADHD. Earlier I would look at my ADHD as a barrier but now I feel it could also be an asset. I haven’t reached the ‘it is my superpower’ stage yet. I might be different but I’m definitely not any lesser than the others. I’ve never felt at home like I have with this group. All of us could just be our true ADHD selves and let our thoughts and feelings be intrusive and it was completely okay. Seeing so many people thrive in their careers with ADHD also gave me hope. We were the children blessed with the perfect parents / facilitators / besties in Abu and Suhana who were insightful but also very honest about where they lie in their mental health journey also. This made our journey feel less overwhelming. I feel the environment they create matters much more than the learning which is obviously there but I say environment because in the real world most of us neurodivergent folks feel outcasted. It feels good to feel included and feel wanted in a group. If I make a list of those learnings, the review will never end.

If you are someone who feels like your life has been a lie because suddenly, a random stranger with a medical degree has told you that you have ADHD. Firstly, here’s a hug. Life is not changing, it will only make sense now. You have been given a new complicated gadget and now you need an easy manual or ‘how to’ series of videos that will help you use this gadget or at least understand it.

Abu and Suhanah’s sessions will be that manual and ‘how to’ video.

Go for it. Tathhastuuu. Carpe Diem.

My name is Viraj Pradhan. I’m not running for president but I approve this message.
