I think because of this, students don't usually want to teach. What if we offered a two year teaching course for students? 11th grade= a science elective class about learning and education that brings in neuroscience as well as sociology. Summer= students work at city rec with younger children. 12th grade= students actually design their own research project and "student teach" in classrooms. Summer= students teach abroad/ College= free tuition at local college if they commit to getting a teaching degree and coming back to the district.

It could incorporate all the different ethnic groups within our school. There could be dances, food celebration, art work, poetry.
