There are many reasons to believe that he helped Shakespeare write all of his works. Devere has had a similar life to Shakespeare and that is why many people are convinced he helped Shakespeare. Edward's family was also known for poets throughout their generation. Devere was known for keeping a Geneva Bible that belonged to him. In the Geneva Bible that Devere owned, there are very similar marks that correspond to Shakespeare's plays. It is said to believe that Shakespeare and Devere wrote together "both to avoid breaking a voluntary convention against aristocrats publishing poetry and plays and to escape the consequences of the subject matter he was writing about." Devere also directed and was in several plays at the same time that Shakespeare was. Edward Devere also lived closely to Shakespeare. Many people believe that Shakespeare was very close with Devere. Hamlet was basically an autobiography of Devere's life. It was very similar and had deep personal meaning. There is historical proof provided that Devere was in someway connected to Shakespeare.
