The destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem (70AD)

This was the result of the first Jewish-Roman war. The Romans invaded Judea due to a Jewish revolt against their rule, and the war kept on until 70AD. And after 3 years, the Roman Army which was led by General Titus, destroyed the city and its temple which was a central worship location for the Jews for centuries. The Romans saw this temple as an act of rebellion, and thus destroyed it to show dominance. This event was significant for Christians because it marked the beginning of a new era in Jewish history, and the split between Christianity and Judaism. When the temple was eradicated, Christians were forced to adapt to find new ways to express their faith.

The council of Ephesus was an important ecumenical council of the Christian Church, convened by Emperor Theodosius II in 431AD. This council's purpose was to settle the dispute over the nature of The Virgin Mary's significance, and that she was still a virgin even after the birth of Jesus.

The council of Chalcedon took place in 451AD and was convoked by Emperor Malcian. The purpose of this council was to convey the issue of the relationship between the human and divine natures in Jesus Christ. The council established the doctrine of Christ's dual nature, which affirms that Jesus is fully human and fully divine. The council of Chalcedon is considered to be one of the msot significant councils in Christian history. The doctrine of Christ's dual nature laid the foundation for the development of orthodox Christianity, and the interpretation of the Bible.

Martin Luther was a German monk and a professor of theology. He was a significant figure in Christian history because of his role in the protestant reformation, and his beliefs had a lasting impact on the history of Christianity. The reformation was a period of religious reform in the 16th century which brought about major changes in the Catholic Church and the Christian faith as a whole.

One of Martin Luther's most significant contributions were his disapproval of the Catholic Church's practice of selling indulgences. Martin Luther proclaimed that the selling of indulgences were corrupt, fraudulent, and immoral. That belief of his helped start the Protestant Reformation.

Martin Luther was brought to the Diet of Worms to answer charges against him being deemed a heretic by the Catholic Church. After which, Luther was marked as an outlaw by the Roman Empire, and that he could be legally executed on sight.

So a staged kidnapping took place to rescue Luther and put him into hiding so that he may continue translating the Bible form Latin to German.

The protestant reformation was a religious and political movement that took place Europe between the 16th and 17th centuries. The reformation started with Martin Luther, who questioned the authority of the pope and the sale of indulgences.

In 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the doors of a Church in Wittenberg, in which challenged the teachings of the Catholic Church, and led to his excommunication in 1521.

Ultimately, this led to the separation of the Catholic Church and the formation of multiple denominations. For example Anglicanism, and Lutheranism.
