Felicia Vinanda P (81180034)
My review about this movie is I think this movie is really good and great, and the material relations that I read for this film I take from Intrinsic Motivation in the Classroom-Brown theory, in the film Ms. Stacey, perfoms Instrinsic motivation for her students. There is one scene where Ms. Stacey teaches them about the meaning of the word "Respectful" and there they share and tell stories about their lives, then there Ms. Stace doing meeting and agreement between parents that Ms. Stacey wants to doing study progam with students and their parents, so that students can study well. Ms stacey also upgrade the classroom "unfit for use" to very nice and colorful classroom and Ms Stace also give them all the facilities they should have such as, a good book to support they learning activities.

Yessica Girsang/81180053
I think this movie has a good moral value because the story is set as a teacher who is placed teaching in a place she didn't expect before. Initially the teacher (Ms. Stace) had not yet found a calling to teach at an anonymous school in the movie, but after she was able to understand the situation and feelings of her students she began to change her mind and tried her best to give her best to her students. I'm going to shoot one of the scene in this video where Alex (student) gives Ms. Stace a picture he drew himself and he gets compliment for it. According to Brown's (2007) theory of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation, in this scene Alex has extrinsic motivation because he wants to impress Ms. Stace with what he is doing and as a result Alex gets praise from Ms. Stace.

Thesalonika D. W. P. B./ 81180046

I think this movie is very inspirational and emotional. I can see that the role of the teacher is essential in the classroom. Mrs. Bess, as a teacher, she can be a motivator and facilitator for the students. In this case, I can relate with the theories that I've read which are scaffold theory from Trip (2016) and teaching children theory from Brown (2007). Firstly is about scaffold theory. Based on the movie, Mrs. Bess has used scaffolded activities, it can be seen when she taught vocabulary. In the pre-task, Mrs. Bess used discussion activity to brainstorm with students about "Respectful". She asked what's the meaning of respectful based on the students' knowledge or experiences. At that time, the students were very active to answering the question. In the whilst task and post task, the teacher tried to elaborate the topic and students' experiences by giving students vocabulary word as much as possible and students need to share their life. Then, secondly is about teaching children. As we know that, children have a short attention span, so in the movie, the teacher has engaged students' attention by giving a media when they learn about photosynthesis and art. Moreover, the teacher also gave the sensory input. For example, when the teacher asked students to pin the vocabulary words on the board.

This video is very important if we want become a teacher strategy. Mrs. Stacey is a great teacher to build student and pushing them became the great student Kids. And not only that, she is build and create the school. Until that, all elementary school student, can start to learn, and the parent to wake and give supports. Even though never Mrs. Stacey never get easy to teach, but she have strong to process as the teacher.

Irene 81180057This film is very inspiring. Become a teacher Mrs.Bess must be brave, confident, creative and have the ability to communicate and build relationships with other people. Mrs.Bess can know the talents and uniqueness of her students, when the scene meets Danny often Mrs.Bess praises Danny that he has the talent of a leader. Then when at the end of the film he left a letter to the new teacher that her students were good at science. It is not easy for Mrs.Bess to adapt to a teaching environment that is far from her expectations. In the sensory aspect of input, Mrs.Bess often creates facilities and means for practice. Like the practice of draping colors, listening to tapes and guessing the musicians. Then by building intellectual development, Ms. Bess is consistent with her activities and does not give up even though sometimes there are obstacles, but by doing habitual patterns the students will also get used to it.

Wendy Fernando (81180036)

Based on the video, I can conclude that Mrs. Stacy Bess was a good teacher. She adapted the personality of her teacher in the elementary school to her own teaching style. Even though she had a bad experience about her parents and also not graduated in her school, she has tenacity in her conviction to be a good teacher. As the example, she repair the school using her own money to buy the tools that she need to teach because the institution not giving them gifts in the beginning and after Mrs. Stacey already giving the complain report for many times they just want to help the school unnamed. The other examples can you see in the video because the video had a lot of knowledge to learn.

Elnora May Nababan (81180052) - The movie is truly amazing and moved my heart. We could see from the movie that Ms. Bess is teaching children. As mentioned by Brown (2007) in part Teaching Across Age Levels, teaching children needs a bunch of efforts as their attention span is very low, they are easy to get bored, it showed in the movie when some children were fighting in the middle of the class, and others start to make fun and support them to fight. But Ms. Bess is very creative teacher, she do variety of activities that keep students' attention and interest alive, like listening to classical music, putting some words to the wall, and so on. The teacher also stimulating students' senses, like mixing paint color and put it on their hands, which sensory input are very needed in teaching children. Another thing to be highlighted is that Ms. Bess is very patient and supportive towards the students, she build students' self-esteem even tough the each student has their own background life. From my opinion, the teacher use Hierarchy of needs theory motivation to the students, according to Brown (2007) in Intrinsic Motivation in Classroom. Because the students are suffer from poverty and couldn't have proper education before, Ms. Bess give her students motivation based on their physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. Therefore, the students feel safe and know that they have right to study and what they want to be.

Dian Grace Wondiwoi - 81170029

Alright, I have watched the movie, it was really makes me crying this early morning. It’s very inspirational, for me this movie has a very good moral value that we can learn from it which is Caring to others especially homeless children.
Since the first time I watch the movie when The teacher which is Ms. Stacey since she was kid, she had dream to become a teacher, but at 16 years old she quit from school , but still continue to study after that. Until one day when she already married and have 2 kids, she started a new job as a teacher. After that Ms.Stacey was expected that she will teach in a good school as she expected but the reality isn’t the same.
First and second day at school by knowing kind of the classroom and there are not even material that can support her to teach, or planning to teach.
Until she feel and really care about the students which is homeless, and she fights for the students and she starts to change the situation of the classroom and work together with students parents to manage the classroom to be more comfortable for the students to learn inside the classroom .

Based on the movie, Ms. Stacey, the way she teach the students, According to David Ausubel 1968 in Brown’s (2007) theory of Drive theory about Exploring, stimulating, activity. It is related when the first time Ms.Stacey come to the school and meet the students and there’s no plans how to teach the students and she starts by exploring what’s actually the needs of the students and then put some activity that can motivate the students to talk about their need.

Actually most of the methods that Ms.Stacey used are very inspirational and related to Brown’s (2007) theory.
And to summarize the movie I take the big picture that’s really happening in the classroom is because Ms.Stacey is very Caring teacher, she did everything because of she care about the students future to be better.

Erison Saoloan (81180033)
Based on what I have read, the students learning is affected by their poverty. The learners are not organized well. Based on that Egle said that ‘…the encouragement of learner autonomy universally without an awareness of social, cultural and political context, may lead to inappropriate pedagogies and cultural impositions. From that, if the teachers are more aware of those things I think the learning in the classroom can be more effective. And based on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation there is a students that in a competition between Danny and alex ( when Danny push Alex)

As I watch this movie, it reminds me of another movie called Freedom Writer. Both have similar plot. There are teachers who want to teach students but somehow the teaching activity doesn't run smoothly cause the students have a problem outside the class, in this case poverty. All of them are homeless, some students didn't eat breakfast before go to class, and a bad attitude. At first students are not enjoying the class, but somehow the teacher do something that made the students be more engaged in the class. The teacher clean the class, give it props just like what a decent classroom should have. This is viewed by the students as game-changer and they are more willing to study in class. What the teacher here is doing is she offered intrinsic motivation to the students which also make the teaching activity run more smoothly afterwards.
