We discovered nature with our students. Acorns, cones, twigs, chestnuts, etc. We collected the objects. We poured it into the garden of our school and counted them all one by one. Then we wrote numbers on the floor and grouped the objects we collected under it. Then we divided our objects into groups of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 according to their types. (My students and I did not learn to count rhythmically with 7, 8, and 9.) We counted in sequence. We had so much fun. We ended our activity by writing the name of our project with the objects we collected.

We went to the park near the school where we collected leaves and picked laurel fruits and flowers. Since it had rained before and everything was wet, we returned to the classroom where we counted these objects and did basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication. Counting Activity With Objects From Nature

Hello everyone, it's us again :) Eda and I walked around the garden of our school and collected all the objects we could. Then we went to the classroom and grouped our objects first. We clustered and counted each of our groups. We used suitable objects for 5, 4 and 3 rhythmic counting. We created problems with these objects and solved the problems we created. It was a very fun lesson with both nature and mathematics :)

Margarida and I went to the school garden and discovered many interesting objects. Our garden is large and as it is autumn there are many leaves on the ground.

We took some photographs of these objects and made calculations relating Mathematics and Nature. Students really enjoy these activities!
