He was a loving Dad who always could find the time to make his children laugh, and was an amazing husband to his wife. He  was described of having a switch that he could turn on and off to get rid of his marine alter ego when he was at home. He did everything he could to make the people around him happy. He even worked with other soldiers who were going through tough times. This led to his assassination on February 2, 2013 when he was going out shooting to a range with a man named Eddie Ray Routh. Chris was with his best friend Chad Littlefield who was going along for the day. Suddenly when they arrived at the range, Routh shot and killed Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield.
