It highlighted the importance of moving beyond generalizations in our interactions.

I found the discussions on how national culture individually impacts communication styles particularly insightful. It's clear that recognizing these variations is key to fostering effective business relationships globally."

The session underscored the practical application of intercultural communication competence in real business scenarios, showing how theoretical knowledge translates directly into better cross-cultural interactions.

Today reinforced the idea that effective intercultural communication isn't just about what you say, but how you say it, and how others interpret it based on their own cultural lens."

I appreciated the focus on bridging the gap between abstract cultural frameworks and the tangible behaviors and communication patterns we encounter daily in diverse business setti

ngs.

Reflection empowers both the writer and the reader. Can you share one of your thoughts on today's class with me/us? It is deeply appreciated

In my opinion was nice. I loved the Quiz because we think that we know all, but in the end, we need to be humble and show humility that we are learning every day ... it is not important that we are older or younger or experienced, we learn every day. I learn also from my students, and this feedback helps the teachers to be better and students to show the expectations. I love it, and I love seeing different points of view and being open because we need to do better. Thanks, that is so interactive and we can share experiences, and it is productive, it's not only listening, I love it, I feel inspired, and thanks so much,h I hope we can be in touch and listen more about your work. best regards Gaby

Personally I was very interested in the topics of business communication and today's class was up to my expectations, even though I already knew some concepts about basic communication. Generally, the topics covered and the teaching methods used really inspired me and contributed to add value both to my academic and personal knowledge. I've really appreciated the last group work part because I find it easier to talk to a smaller group of people rather than the whole class, and this gave everyone the opportunity to participate and express themselves.

I truly thank you and I look forward to listening to the next courses of this intense week!

I didn’t expect today’s class to make me think so much about how easily we misunderstand each other without even noticing. What struck me most was realizing that adapting our communication isn’t about being “polite” or following rules, but about really trying to see things from the other person’s perspective. I liked the examples of how even small words or gestures can be interpreted so differently in other cultures. It made me reflect on times I probably got it wrong without realizing. I think I’ll remember this next time I need to explain something important or work with people from different backgrounds. It feels like learning to pay better attention is the real skill here.

Beatrice Gorini

I wasn't familiar with some of the aspects (especially the more technical ones) that were introduced, but I found them fascinating. Learning how to communicate in the right way, being aware of who you're speaking to, is something very important—especially in today's world, where we interact with many different personalities and cultures.

Also, I like how the professor mentioned each of our cultural backgrounds, and the country graphs help me to connect it to my own experiences. It wasn’t just about absorbing information, but about making sense of it in a way that felt personal and relevant. This kind of active engagement helped me appreciate the lesson on a new level and made the learning process feel more intentional.

Moreover, It made me question my own biases and how I communicate with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Particularly, one sentence that caught my attention was "I am not a failed version of you, and you are not a failed version of me.” This made me think about how important it is to respect different cultures without comparing them to our own. Thanks for everything, it was a pleasure.

Alessia Uva

This lesson was truly interesting, and the examples provided were perfect for helping us grasp even the most subtle distinctions between cultures.

Since I was a child, I’ve been immersed in two different cultures. I often noticed how certain behaviors or approaches worked in one culture but not in the other, or how a small gesture could be perceived completely differently depending on the cultural context. Over the years, I’ve learned to adapt, especially because I’ve traveled a lot, and the most important thing I’ve learned is to always stay curious and to respect every kind of difference and tradition.
