In 1929, the Black Legion Society, a white supremacist group, burned down they family house. 2 years later, Earl died from a streetcar accident, following by the mother's mental breakdown. With their family then dispersed, Malcolm was sent to a foster home, followed by going to Roxbury, Mass., in 1941 where he lived with his half-sister, Ella Collins. This was a lot for Malcolm, but he handled it. At the age of 16, Malcolm dropped out of school after his 8th grade and got a job at the Roseland Ballroom in Boston's Back Bay section.

He learned to survive like this, and soon left in 1942 for a job as a railroad dining-car porter. Soon getting into criminal activities, he was sent to jail. In jail he learned about the nation of Islam, where he became a minister, made good speeches, and was soon assassinated.

One of Malcolm's biggest obstacles was one for all blacks: discrimination, segregation, and hatred to colored. Many whites thought that black people didn't deserve as mush as them. They separated schools, homes, even bathroom sinks! It was hard for Malcolm to get a living in these conditions, but he managed. Life was rough for all "colored", but they fought hard.

Malcolm had many accomplishments. One of his biggest was the speech, "The Ballot or the Bullet", saying his finale before leaving Islam. But that wasn't his only accomplishment. For example, on June 29, 1963 Malcolm lead the Unity Rally in Harlem. It was one of the nations largest civil rights events. He did much work over his lifetime, and to him, it was worth it.

Malcolm X was like the Hitler Youth resisters, but in different ways. As he wanted freedom of speech and religion, he did in different ways. Although, that is not what we are talking about. We are saying how they both resisted the no matter the cost. If it helped future generations, then good. He found ways to get others on his side, just like resisters. He gave speeches and notes, flyers and rallies, all for freedom. This is what they had in common.

First founded in the 1930's by Wali Farad, this group fought aggressive, but non-violently. In 1934, Farad suddenly disappeared. Soon relizing he wasn't coming back, the group put Muhammad inn charge. The two rivals, Muhammad and Malcolm, raised the tension even higher. Soon after President John F. Kennedy's death, Malcolm was silenced for 90 days for a comment on his death, "chickens come home to roost." For being silenced, Malcolm got mad and left before his silence was over. Soon after changing his name, he was assasinated.
