         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Key ideas</strong><br>Praxis - Once conscious - begin to engage in informal actions to transform their situation and correct injustices in society. <br><br>Critical Pedagogy - teaching approach to help students question domination and their alleged practices. <br><br>Reproductive thesis - schools to be viewed and measured against the need to reproduce the values, social practices and skills needed for the dominate corporate order. <br><br>Ethic of justice = fairness, equality, rights and universal principles<br>Ethic of care = trust, social bonds, caring relations and responding to needs of others<br>Care has to be institutionalised - enhanced by citizenship education<br><br><strong>Key people</strong><br>Paulo Freire - oppressive Banking education - Students are passive depositories and teachers are the depositors. <br>Dialogical education. <br><br>Max Weber - social stratification based on a position in market relations. 3 dimensions of inequality = class, status and power<br>1980 - classified according to occupation (blue/white collar, unskilled/skilled)<br>1990 - classified based on competence, salary, employment conditions<br>2010 - combination of Marxist and Webberian theories. <br><br>Tronto - Humans should be treated on the basis of human similarities <br><br><strong>Questions<br>1.
