Me and Niamh are having a discussion about my photoshoot. Throughout the discussion i realised i have to rethink my health and safety.

TASK 5 PHOTO INFLUENCE

Visual:This shot shows colour, the colour repeats within the reflection of the water. The pattern is shown on the bricks and on the pavement. Also lines are shown within the shot and they are converging towards the graffiti. They draw the viewer into the picture as they eye follows the perspective lines on the pavement.

Technical:The camera type is DSLR; Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera. I believe the shutter speed was 1/250 as it's a stand still shot.

Contextual: This Image would have been taken after it was raining, as there was puddles on the pavement. This would have been taken in a built up urban environment, possibly deprived/poor area as there is graffiti on the wall. It may have been taken midday or during the day as the light is even and fairly dull and cloudy as there isn't any shadows.

Visual: This shot shows space. The Woman isn't based in the middle which most people would put her. This image also shows Texture on the wall. The wall is dirty and marked. Also the image shows framing, her legs are cropped out of the shoot.

Technical: The lens is a 18-5mm with natural lighting. A fast shutter speed would have been used.

Contextual: This image is a Portraiture. Its based In Harlow Essex. I think whats interesting about this shot, is she's drinking while pregnant. Also she's wearing a 'worlds best mum' top.

Visual: This shot is a Urban shot. This shot is very dark, the shot also shows texture of the bricks under the under path. This shot shows space, the people aren't based in the middle of the photo. There isn't no depth of field within this shoot. Lines are also shown on the walk way and the lines on the bricks. They draw the viewers to the photo as the photo has perspective lines.

Technical: The camera type is a DSLR which stands for Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera. By the type of shot i believe the shutter speed was at setting 1/250 as its a stand still image.

Contextual: This image was taken at Harlow Town Underpath. The shot would of been took on a bright day as you can see sunlight on the other side of the under path.

TASK 6 AND 7 DARKROOM AND PHOTOGRAMS

This is an example of a photogram. A photogram is a photographic image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material such as photographic paper and then exposing it to light. The result you will usually get is 'a negative shadow image that shows variations in tone that depends upon the transparency of the objects used'.
To complete a photogram the object you will need to use are a Light source, printing paper ,Sheet of glass, a Thermometer, The chemicals which are called Developer, Stop Bath,Fixer and running water.
These objects do this:
Sheet of glass
This is used to hold flat subjects in close contact with the paper.
printing paper
Printing paper is coated with a light sensitive emulsion and is used to expose the items on to make the photogram.
Thermometer
The thermometer is used to ensure the chemicals are at the correct temperature.
Developer
A developer reacts with the exposed areas of silver in the paper's emulsion turning these parts black to form an image. Areas that receive more light become blacker when developed. Areas that receive no light stay clear.
Stop Bath
An acid solution that quickly counteracts the developer to prevent over development of the paper.
Fixer
This dissolves any unused silver halides that were not developed and stops the paper from being light sensitive
Running water
To ensure all traces of fixer are removed before the print is dried.

Visual: This shot is Space and Urban. This shot is very dull, the model not based in the middle of the shot, which is why it shows space. The model is pregnant up against a dirty and marked wall. There is no depth of field within this shot, the texture on the the wall stands out in the image.

Technical: The camera type is a DSLR; Digital Single Lens Relection Camera. The shutter speed was 1/250 as the model is standing still. I done this shot in the day time to get natural lighting.
