         <description><![CDATA[<div>On&nbsp; October&nbsp; 23,&nbsp; 1991&nbsp; the&nbsp; Comprehensive&nbsp; Cambodian&nbsp; Peace&nbsp; Agreement&nbsp; (commonly&nbsp; referred&nbsp; to&nbsp; as&nbsp; the&nbsp; “Paris&nbsp; Peace&nbsp; Accords”)&nbsp; was&nbsp; arranged by&nbsp; the&nbsp; United&nbsp; Nations,&nbsp; ending&nbsp; the&nbsp; twelve&nbsp; year&nbsp; civil&nbsp; war&nbsp; in&nbsp; Cambodia. It affected the country because Cambodia&nbsp;was temporarily governed&nbsp;by the&nbsp;United Nations&nbsp;Transit&nbsp;Authority of Cambodia.&nbsp; It was not until May 1993 that the first free elections in more than twenty years were held.</div>]]></description>
