1)This year our group successfully created an organisation in the form of a school club that can live beyond us, created 11 Publications and 67 articles out of a possible 94, we created a Facebook page and established a legit website, and
we created an outlet to view unbiased news and be more informed. 2)Keeping the momentum going through the year was the toughest struggle, and maintaining enthusiasm in members. 3)Our main points of growth were collaboration skills, Teamwork, problem solving, innovation thinking, and writing. 4)One take away is, if you can think it, you can do it. 5) This is a great club that can easily continue beyond its founders with a sponsor (Mrs .Butler or Mr Morley, ect...), but we will still be here next year to build it.

The biggest triumph we had this year was probably our term papers. The term papers provided us with the information we need to actually make this happen. My biggest triumph in this class is that I read more than I expected to read, which is a big deal for me personally. The biggest challenge for the W2W was our group communication, and personally my biggest challenge was grasping the other half of my brain that goes unused, as i am not a very arty person. This too though was my biggest area of growth, because by the end I was using much more art and digital creations than i expected to do and i most certainly enjoyed it. My biggest take away from this class was that it just takes a bit of self discipline to do the things you want to do.

Did not know I could take on something of this size. It still makes me nervous to take it on but with help from my group I know I can do it. I struggle with wanting to do everything and not let anyone help me/ give them work because I don't want to over whelm others. Looking at small little bit of the big picture so I don't feel overwhelmed. I learned and am still learning on how to how to delegate. I also learned that its okay to fail forward and that not everything is all laid out nicely and that I have to sometimes figure things out on my own.

1) We have regularly published articles for a good part of the year, and I count that as a huge triumph. It was sometimes difficult with conflicting schedules and different events, but we did a lot to make sure we had a quite regular publication.
2) The most challenging part of this project was working over all of the normal "just starting" roadblocks. Trying and failing and trying and getting results until we got what we felt was the best outcome. Sometimes it took awhile, but we always got through.
3) I really grew my skills as a collaborator and learned how to better work with the people in my group and with people in general. You learn what to expect of people, and what to do on your own and I think it was a valuable experience.
4) A take-away from this project for me is that if you keep at something, it becomes increasingly more possible until it becomes real. I have seen that with our group and with others, and it has become evident that what you put into it determines what you get out of it.

I loved the atmosphere in the classroom. I liked how layed back everyone was and the living room areas made everything feel a lot more relaxed. I struggeld with the loose guidelines but that was mostly because im a professional procrastinator. It's a problem. I need help. Despite struggling I still enjoyed being able to move at my own pace. It was a little rough being in a seperate class as the rest of my group but I think we did well with talking out of class and i'm happy with what we were able to accomplish this year. One takeaway for me woukd be to learn to better manage my time. I want to start setting time aside for what needs to be done to make sure that I do it instead of just doing it when I think of it or thinking of it and then putting it off.

From this great organization, I feel that I have a greater sense community from our close collaboration as well as a renewed sense of pride for what our group has built from the ground up: The VIGIL.
5.

1) My triumph was starting an organization without major teacher involvement. My group and I created the idea of PAC, our own distribution methods, and our own meetings. We were able to work well as a group to accomplish our goal of creating an unbiased publication.
2) A challenge for me was balancing Power of You work with regular English work. I feel that my Power of You group was very successful, but that success required a large amount of work on top of regular English work. It was overwhelming at times.
3) A major area of growth for me was collaboration. My Power of You group's goal required frequent collaboration and communication between group members. Whenever we publish articles, we have three editors (myself included) that must check them for grammatical issues and bias. Without collaboration, bias certainly would have gotten into our publications. I have learned to collaborate and work in a group more efficiently as a result of this experience.
4) A take away from this experience is that I can change aspects of the world if I try hard enough. With The PAC, my group helped change the world of politics by allowing people to form their own opinions. It was a daunting task at first, but I feel we were successful. If our members didn't put enough effort into our goal, we probably wouldn't have accomplished it. If I want something to change, I need to work hard at it, and then I can accomplish the change.
5) I personally feel that the Power of You on top of regular English work was difficult to manage at times. It was also difficult at times to transition from an English unit to Power of You, and then back. I think it would be better if there were a separate class dedicated to the Power of You. This way, people could spend much more time on it in class, and their groups could become even more successful. It would also allow people who are not in Honors level or AP level English classes to join if they would like to do so. I like how the Power of You helped me enhance some of my "soft skills" such as collaboration and grit. These are important skills to have in life, and allow people to be successful, as demonstrated by the Power of You initiative. In terms of how the class was structured and blended learning, I feel that it was difficult to keep on task at times. I personally prefer a more structured learning style because it forces me to stay on task, complete assignments by a certain date, and there is more direct teacher involvement. However, I realize that others prefer the model utilized this year. Lastly, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the classroom. It was very positive, and the comfortable furniture made the classroom feel more relaxed :)

1) I think that the major triumph that we had in our club, specifically, was our collection of 11 publications. To think of how much work that went into each article, let alone each publication, is amazing. Our growth as authors and researchers is apparent between our first publication and number 11. I think that that is something to be proud of.
2) The biggest challenge we had as a group would have to be staying committed to making deadlines and writing requirements. There were weeks that writing the bare minimum amount of articles, as well as publishing them on time, was similar to walking four miles to school, in the snow, up hill both ways. I will say, though, we never completely missed a deadline.
3) An area of growth for me was leadership. Coming into this year, I was afraid of leading and "leaning in." I overcame this by working on my confidence. In addition to this, I also took more leadership positions, such as, Link Crew, class officer, Special Olympics, secretary of PA Club and team captain.
4) One take away I have from this year is that determination is more important than immediate success. In the PA Club, we spent most of the first half of the year just deciding on how we wanted to run the club; we did no writing until much later. During this time, we had no "product" of our hard work, for what is a news network without any articles? However, we got all of the organizational work out of the way for the rest of the year. We could then write 11 publications back-to-back.
5) I loved this year's English class. While I can see why some don't like Blended Learning, I think it is more beneficial for creating a well-rounded person than a traditional curriculum. The "student-centered" aspects of Blended Learning help teach work ethic, the pursuit of one's interests and gumption, which are, to some, not already enforced by the traditional curriculum.

1) A major triumph for our group was just the ability to make the project our own. We were able to emphasize our goals for the project and formulate action plans throughout the year. I think we should be proud of all the research and thought we put in to planning our trip as well.
2) We faced a good amount of adversity in attempting to pursue the project on top of other classwork. It was rather difficult when trying to solidify what we wanted to get out of the project as money became a barrier to our ambitions. It was challenging to keep coming back to the project when it was a struggle to continue with our plans to schedule a trip.
3) I experienced growth in the areas of problem solving as we were able to push ourselves and tackle the research to find the greatest areas in need. We were able to address the fact that we couldn't use fundraising and move forward towards a new plan. I was able to build my communication skills by working together with Amy to fulfill both of our ambitions in serving others in need.
4) One of the greatest take-aways from this experience was being able to foster the idea of traveling outside of my comfort zone and making change happen. The ambitions in providing hope to those in need will live on and I am confident that our club will live on next year. We have most of the plans worked out to make the trip to Texas and whether it be this year, or next year, I know we can make it happen.
5) I enjoyed the way our class functioned this year. I especially like how relaxed the atmosphere was as it enabled me to be able to work sufficiently without the factors of anxiety and stress. I was really happy this year with the freedom to be creative with my classwork. I loved the independence we had this year.

Although it was hard to keep things moving sometimes I wthinkwe powered through that, and through this project learned how to do that.
2. I think the biggest challenge was keeping things moving and coming up with more ideas pursue considering we were multi project kind of group.
3. I think we really grew in collaboration and problem solving, having to work around certian scheduling and project challenges as they arrived
4. What I take away from this is that if you really care and are committed to something as a group you accomplish it even if it becomes very challenging
5. Great experience
Note didn’t really get to experience working with Naples in the overall scheme of things. Not sure if that really a problem though.

I originally signed up for regular, plain old English 11 with Dancause. It was the second or so day of school and you, Mrs. Butler asked myself and a small handful of other students if we wanted to switch over to English 11 Honors. I switched over and I would repeat that switch over to Honors again and again. The overall atmosphere had me hooked from the second I walked into the classroom! I personally loved the Blended Learning method because it allowed me to be very flexible with how and when I got my work done. I did not have a problem adhering to the due dates because I don't like being behind in class. If I ever needed help their was a support system of my peers on standby if I ever needed them, and vice versa. The method of the way our class was taught has by far made English 11 Honors my favorite English class. The wide array of seating choices just made me feel very comfortable being in class. The availability of laptops was a huge help to me!! If you needed a laptop to do work, they were only a few steps away. Today's classrooms are evolving and the need for technology is necessary. I would choose your classroom over a non-blended learning classroom in a literal heartbeat. I feel that the way you ran the class was perfect!!

We all liked the idea of doing a run to Whitman College however, the planning for it would be very time consuming.
3. I've learned to be slightly more leader-like and more assertive. There were times I had to tell my group to meet up rather than ask for a scheduled date.
4. If I want an idea to be successful, I need to take in account my motivation and schedule as well as who I am working with. Even if my group members want it to be done, it may not work for my group to be able to piece it together.
5. Remind kids to be realistic if they truly want to achieve their goal.

1.) One major triumph for our group was the fact that even though our ideas for the club parted ways, Emma and I were still able to make the club what we wanted it to be. It became completely unique to us and our interests.
2.)The main challenge that we faced was the fact Naples wouldn't communicate with us when we asked them how things were going. We ended up taking two different paths as far as ideas went. It was also really hard to keep up with Power Of You along with all of the other things going on during our Junior year.
3.) One way in which I grew, was that I learned how be persistent even when I didn't have any motivation to keep going with the project. I learned that Sometimes you have to part ways with others in order to succeed, while still encouraging them in their pursuits.
4.) One of my biggest take-aways from the project, was that I do have power as an individual. Maybe I can't go out and change the whole world right away, but I can change the lives around me for the better. Everyone's lives will have an impact, but what kind of impact will it be?
5.) I really loved the independence that this class gave us this year. The living room setting made the atmosphere of the classroom so relaxed while still being productive. I loved the balance of working as an individual and also working as a group. Overall I thought this class was absolutely amazing.

Triumph: Early formative steps, like coordination with Naples, getting the project rolling and especially the second meetup where the groups started putting together their action plans. We were very involved with that and helped many groups set a timeline.
Challenge: Communication and time management, we were pretty busy and since our group members didn't really have social media it was hard to keep in touch.
Growth: Personally I had a lot of fun with the opportunity to creatively problem solve for a couple different groups. It was an opportunity to exercise a muscle I don't normally use.
Take Away: Man, I have so many- I'd just refer you to my suggestions for next year but overall I would say that the project is worthwhile and workable. We didn't know that going in, but I think now there is sufficient evidence to back it up.
Feedback: It's good to keep an open mind!

1) A triumph of mine and I feel of others was breaking a psychological barrier of doubt in the project and the Power of You as a whole. I know that my doubt was vocal and not very easily suppressed, but eventually i began to work on the project more and more and I became attached. There were moments in the school year that P.A.C. was my primary focus, and other times it became little more than something I tinkered with, a permanent experiment. As a became more attached I realized that our triumph as a whole was disregarding political leanings and working together to make a wonderful product.
2) Our challenges were what made P.A.C., our struggles formed into lessons to learn from. We faced doubt and concern with the final product and what it should be, and we continue to face expansion as a primary concern. However we will continue to face our challenges as we always have; with a meeting and a vote.
3) I feel that though we have not changed as far as our political views are concerned, I know an area of growth has been our understanding of each other and to accept one another as we are. We even jokingly mock ourselves to see that when we boil everything down we are all human and there is always a middle ground. There have been times in our group where we have faced sectional difficulty, but we were able to look pass that and come to a compromise.
4) A take away that I believe we all share is: Don't trap yourself in a non-growth mindset, always be willing to learn and try something new.

Blended learning was alright i think it was different and sometimes really nice. It was tricky to work with people from other classes and grades but its good to mix things up. I wasn't a big fan of working with the naples kids even though it was a good idea I just dont think it worked out well but it went fairly well with the kids from our school. I feel like i would have liked more time to do this it was a cool idea but were so busy during the school year its hard to do outside work. Their were still some things I would have done differently that would have been cool for the project. The power of you did help my skills of working together and in groups I wasn't a fan of group work before this year it really does make things a whole lot better and you get new fresh ideas and opinions which are important. Blended learning worked well in the classroom this year i really liked the freedom and not set due dates on each little thing it was nice to be able to work at my own speed or with someone else at our own speed. I enjoyed blended learning

1) I would have to say that my greatest triumph would be my growth as a student. Before this class i would do as the teacher said. And i wouldint really put any true effort into my learning. Being able to have this freedom in a classroom was a major change for me as a student.
2) The biggest challenge that i faced was being in the NWCC. Being allowed to create something special was fun, but difficult for me. I was exposed to new ways of thinking and creating projects and products. Sometimes i had a lack of excitement for my project. But it worked out in the end and was worth all of the hard work we all put in.
4) I would have to say that out of everything i've gone through in this class, i would have to take away all of the fun times in the class, and all of the growth as an individual student i went through. I now have the drive to think outside the box, problem solve, and collaborate with others. I will greatly miss my classmates and this class because of all of the fun we had here.
5) I would highly recommend this class to any student starting their junior year. They should not be deterred because its an "honors class". If you work hard this class is fun and helpful.

1.) I think the greatest triumph that the PA Club had accomplished was getting on our feet sort to speak. This means just being an actual group that was more importantly a self running section of people. 2.)The most challenging portion of this club would just staying committed. It is a struggle moving to create a publication every week specifically when AP testing and studying was taking place.3.) I think with the way everything was set up this year I grew mostly in the area of creativity and surely developed my left hemisphere more as I used more creative thinking throughout this year.4.) Don't be afraid to give your thoughts a try. Get a group of people that share a common belief and turn that thought into a reality.5.) I love that the PA Club took off the way it did and i'm happy to continue to be a part of it even.

1) My biggest triumph is knowing that I failed. My idea of what I wanted to do fell apart completely. This was due partly to the fact that I didn't have the ability to do what I wanted to by myself, and partly because I lacked the conviction to do what needed to be done. I learned this however, and that's okay. Knowing is important.
2) My biggest challenge was learning on how to adapt to a new situation. I had a fixed mindset, and just learning how to change that was an extreme challenge for me.
3)My area of growth was accepting failure. I never have been good with accepting the fact that I did not succeed, and I can't remember a time where I wasn't able to change that. I learned that skill with this project. Sometimes my plans won't work, and no amount of grit will change that. Sometimes things are just impossible.
5) My take away is that I should start small, and build up to the big objective. I started off with an idea to big, and it killed it.

1) My group worked pretty hard throughout the year to try and complete our overall goal. We were able to work together and began to start creating a better community around us. We were able to accomplish projects that made the community better but also allowed us to grow as a group.
2) A challenge for us was actually going out and getting a project done. Also, we had some trouble getting our numbers to grow. Honestly, it was just a struggle with both of them together since we had little numbers, which made it difficult to get a project done.
3) My area of growth would probably be that I learned how to work with a group. I overall goal of the group was to make the community a better place and through it all, I learned how to work with other people to make things happen. I personally don't like really working with others but this was a learning experience that helped me to grow in that area
4) One take away would be the fact that even though an idea seems like it won't work, don't stop just because a lot of people aren't behind you. You learn to work through the odds and overcome it to do what others think would be stupid or weird to do.
5) This project was a good idea and the class really helped me to expand my viewpoints and everything. I would definitely recommend this class and the independence that we typically have in here is a great experience to have.
