My professional journey started off as a Social Worker and has evolved to dedicate my service to children and young adults in the school setting. I currently work at an accelerated/alternative high school. The school services young adults who have dropped out of high school and are 2 years or more behind. The school provides students a chance to obtain their high school diploma. I am not Dean of Students. I now assist with discipline, student concerns, conducting and facilitating restorative practices with teachers and students, and operations of the school. I assist with restoring relationships and promoting a healthy and positive school environment. I love working with high school students and appreciate their honesty and diverse personalities. I received my undergraduate degree from Bloomsbury University in 2008. I have worked in the mental health field, human services field, and school setting within the last 9 years.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I am currently engaged. We have an amazing daughter together. I also have the privilege of gaining a intelligent and energetic plus 1 (my fiances son). I have a huge family of teachers and educators. I am 1 of 5 siblings (1 older brother and 3 younger sisters). I hope to continue to grow as a professional while at GMU and use what I have learned as a Social Worker to help guide me through the transition into a successful School Counselor. I prefer to work with high school students in the urban setting. I want to provide the encouragement and motivation needed to empower our youth. I understand first hand the benefits of a dedicated counselor and want to be able to provide that same care to other students. 

I hope to strengthening my knowledge of post-secondary planning and the importance of college and career readiness. I hope to encourage future students to establish goals and broaden their long term goals after high school.

I can watch any genre with an open perspective. If I had to chose I would favor drama and suspense.

 I love the ability to lose yourself in a character and see what unfolds in the story. I also enjoy trying new foods and would consider myself to be a "foodie". 

I love to spend quality time with my 5 year daughter. There is definitely something special about the bond between a mother and a daughter. 

I enjoy the performing arts and secretly wanted to be a ballerina growing up. I now get the opportunity to share the love for dance with my daughter. 

I appreciate all things  "girly"-makeup, dresses, shoes, and shopping.
