This is a picture of me enjoying nature. Humans depend on the freedom of nature and as well as its natural resources. Without nature, humans would be succumbed to an unhealthy lifestyle because if humans don't spend enough time outdoors it could effect our mental health. Humans throughout history have lived side by side with nature.

This is a picture I took of a windmill. This represents sustainability because windmills convert wind energy into electricity. This is clean energy and so as a result, the environment is not harmed in the process. Wind is endless and it will never run out. This makes windmills a sustainable source of energy.

I was in New York City when this was taken and during my time in NYC I noticed that there were a lot of people. NYC is one of the most populated cities in the world. In this picture, there are many people in the background. This represents the population of the world and how it is constantly increasing. There may not be enough natural resources in the world to sustain the future human population as natural resources are limited. This is why human population growth is a key environmental issue.

This picture was taken in front of a man made lake. This represents the impact humans can have on the environment. To create a lake in an area that is mostly dry and does not have much water has a huge impact on the environment. This introduces the theme of whether humans negatively harm the environment more than helping it. While creating this man-made lake was an example of helping the environment, human effect on the environment can be harmful as well. In this case humans provided a large water source in this dry chaparral environment to sustain life in the area in times of drought.

This is a picture of New York City. It is one of the most populated cities in the world, home to 18.6 million people. City living has become more common as years pass and soon the world will depend on urban environments to live in. This image was used to represent these urban environments and the future of living.

This is a picture of me recycling waste. This picture represents the role science plays in improving the environment. Until 1970, recycling never existed. As a result, trash had a negative impact on the environment. It reduced wastes sent to landfills and incinerators. With the help of science, recycling was invented. This helped reduced the sizes of landfills, prevents pollution, and conserves natural resources.
