I want to see a school community where our students' safety, individual goals, and academic success take top priority. Additionally, I hope our parents are actively engaged as partners and feel connected to us through our Family Fun Night events, parents' workshops, and Saturday Arts Education Academy.

In June 2025, as we reflect on the school year, I want each of us to feel a deep sense of fulfillment, knowing that we truly made a difference in the lives of our students, their families, and one another. I envision our graduates enrolled in post-secondary programs that match their goals. I hope to see our new students thriving, grateful to have found a place where they belong, and our work-study students advancing with purpose through our tiered programs.

Personally, I aspire to look back and know that I poured my heart into our students, giving them all the love and guidance they needed. I want to feel that I stood by our families, providing unwavering support and that I played a part in helping our staff grow, both personally and professionally. My hope is that when we think of the 2024-25 school year, we do so with pride, knowing that we not only gave our best but also created a joyful and enriching learning environment where our students could thrive.

I envision a place for our students to successfully regulate their feelings and continue to learn coping skills as well as understand the need for following directions and being in location. For staff, I would like to them to continue to collaborate with each other in terms of lesson planning, behavior management support, and continue to treat each other with kindness and respect. For parents, for them to feel welcomed, informed, supported by our school staff.

I want every student at 721Q to have experienced a school year where they feel both seen and valued and have formed meaningful connections with their peers and teachers. Through these relationships, I envision students experiencing significant academic, social, and emotional growth. I aspire for each student to conclude the school year with a wealth of new knowledge and skills, coupled with a profound belief in their abilities and a genuine passion for their potential to contribute to our future.

For our staff, I hope that the strong sense of community that embodies 721Q continues to grow through trust and collaboration. I hope that everyone feels comfortable seeking support from colleagues to address challenges and develop effective solutions.

I see at this point that all sites of our school we have realized how deeply inter-connected we are to our responsibility to each other as staff, students and teachers to better serve the over community of those who are only special needs but who’s needs are special and need immediate attention in our ever changing world, everyday and small ways to demonstrate how much “WE CARE” via our motto and mission in measurable ways. I hope we learned how much each person can express their identities in ways that are substantially meaningful to each person that will not only allow each person to grow in the ways we all need to in mental, emotional and physical ways that will enable us to grow closer to each other along each other productively in our education in the present but also allow each person to try to and actually soar higher in our school and class goals as our school mascot “the Eagle” in ways that allows us to meet a higher mark than we did before in whatever way that respects who we are, what we need in the present and clearly in practical ways towards the future, “Terra Firma.”…on solid ground always moving forward and beyond what separates us and stands in our ways between US and within US!!!

This is the year that I envision increased sustainability success. Recycling, planting, composting and dare I say.. chickens? Students will have extensive engagement in meaningful tasks that result in gains across domains. I’m so excited for our new teachers and staff to feel the joy of student success. I’m energized after a fantastic summer program. Life is too short for any negative or sadness to interfere with the joys of teaching. I remain grateful for the opportunities that I know are not always available

Students will have a greater understanding by learning from other perspectives. We never know what it is like to walk in someone else’s shoes. However by sharing our experiences with each other we develop a better understanding of each other leading to empathy.

My vision for this coming school year is to make sure that everything that is done and everyday is framed with our students and their diverse needs in mind. In a world where they need it the most, it is important to keep our students safe, making sure that they are given the best chance for success, that they are comfortable and happy, and that we do all that we can to give them a positive and memorable experience that our school does so well. In part, we also have to make sure that we are constantly connected and building lifelong relationships with the parents of our students and to the other people in our school that make us a successful team.
