         <title>SPACE EXPLORATION</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>SUMMARY:</p><p>Nuclear power can be used to explore all universes. Even though it is not used till now (for exploration), it will be used in future.<b> Project Orion</b> (http://www.islandone.org/Propulsion/ProjectOrion.html)  is an example. Orion is a spacecraft that travels using nuclear energy. Usage of nuclear power in spacecrafts is better than using other energy suppliers (chemical propellants) because more energy can be obtained by using less amount of fuel: which results in decreasing weight of the rocket / spacecraft. A nuclear powered engine can provide very high thrust  relative to the amount of propellant used in the rocket/spacecraft. This is known as specific impulse. Nuclear energy in a spacecraft is mainly used for propulsion. <b>Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) </b>and <b>Nuclear Electric Propulsion (NEP)</b> are main 2 types of propulsion systems. Both of them depend on nuclear fission reactions leading to create high temperatures that are sufficient to create hydrogen ion plasma (which is used to get very high thrust).This thrust can be used for traveling (exploring). </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>SUMMARY:</p><p>Nuclear Energy is  created by using the control chain reactions of  Type01 fuels.The process mainly consists of utilizing the heat produced in the reaction to convert water into steam,which in turn is used to rotate turbines to generate electricity. Though it has many advantages like less pollution,less fuel consumption,more power generation,etc,in India it is being used in a very minor quantity due to it's disadvantages like possible explosions,no proper procedure for the disposal of nuclear waste,etc.As the technology is advancing,we can reduce the danger level.Since the fossil fuels are becoming scarce and also the atmospheric pollution is increasing rapidly,there is an imminent need to establish more nuclear power plants in India.</p><p><span style="font-size: 13px;">Thorium is the nuclear fuel of the future .It has many  advantages when compared to uranium like less amount of fuel,it cannot be used as a weapon ,more power,etc.India has</span><span style="font-size: 13px;"> one of the largest deposits of thorium ,but as it follows the conventional fossil fuel burning to generate electricity it has to import tons of coal from other countries.Hence,utilizing nuclear power not only allows us to create a greener environment but also increases the state of Indian economy.There is a saying that "</span><span style="font-size: 13px;">every scientific invention is both a boon and bane,it depends on us how we utilize it",hence if we make use of nuclear energy in  a proper way it would be a great advancement in the development of India.</span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Summary:</p><p>Nuclear weapons are an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions (fission or fusion).Both these reactions release vast amount of energy from small amounts. Nuclear weapons are first invented by USA. They tested the first nuclear weapon in 1945.Fission bombs are reffered as atom bombs. Fusion bombs are reffered as hydrogen bombs.</p><p>There are other types of bombs called as neutron bomb, salted bomb. The first nuclear bomb was droped on a city in japan during world war 2.</p><p>In 1974, India conducted its first nuclear test: a subterranean explosion of a nuclear device (not weapon). India declared it to be a "peaceful" test, but it announced to the world that India had the scientific know-how to build a bomb. On May 11, 1998, India shocked the world by exploding three nuclear devices amounting to about six times the destructive power of the American bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The next day, it tested two more<br>nuclear explosions. The world was stunned when Pakistan responded with six<br>nuclear arsenal tests of its own.</p><p>example of fission reaction :</p><p>&nbsp;neutron + uranium-235 → fission products + energy + more neutrons</p><p>The effects of nuclear weapons lasts for very long period as they are radioactive and are harmful for humans and other living beings. </p><p>Many treats had been placed to disbarment of nuclear weapons.</p><p>The world has serious trouble with these weapons.</p><p>&nbsp; But they can be used in an advantages way to humans like using in civil engineering, energy production etc. They should be used vicely and in a useful way.</p><p>&nbsp;-Akshith Reddy T</p>]]></description>
