As a PE Teacher, I find it important to collaborate with other faculty and content areas within the school. I have collaborated with our Math department to create lesson plan in PE that requires both knowledge and skills from within their classrooms and added exercises and activities from PE give students a different perspective on learning. We found that students enjoyed this style of learning and we saw an increase in participation and understanding of the content.

We meet monthly to collaborate. This is a wonderful opportunity to get new ideas, discuss topics we are all facing. We also have the opportunity to meet semi annually with other Middle School counselors in the Birmingham area to have a lunch and learn. This is a wonderful thing provided by ALSCA.

Electives have our own PLC time. We use this time to see how we can help the core classes and each other. It has been beneficial in finding ways to strengthen our students academic scores.
