One is to follow food and water resources driven by the season rain. East Africa has wet and dry seasons. When Tanzania’s Serengeti dries up (May-June), grass and water vanish. Millions of animals , migrate north to Kenya’s Masai Mara—where rains bring lush grazing and reliable water. Second, to survive and reproduce: The Mara’s resources let the animals thrive. After months at Masai Mara (July-October), they head back south to the Serengeti as rains return there. Completing the cycle, they keep the population alive though reproducing during the journey.This migration also sustains Kenya’s ecosystem: it allows predators to hunt and keeps grasslands healthy.
