Jews were forced to work for the Nazis. "I remember one incident in particular. One of the Polish workers got into an argument with a farmer and threatened him with a pitchfork. The farmer was not hurt, but he reported the occurrence to the authorities. The man was sentenced to death and was hanged in the center of town. The lawyer I worked for was required to witness the execution. When he returned to the office, his face was white; he was sick to his stomach." Rosa said.

At one point in time when the Americans had come, Rosa worked for the American Lieutenant. The Americans were a big help to the Jews during WW2 as Hitler was continuing to ruin their country.

In 1948 Rosa had left Germany. She had married a American soldier that was stationed in Germany. When this soldier had been transferred back to the United States she went with them. They had settled down in Michigan and moved whenever he was transferred to other posts. America was very different for Rosa however it created a better life for her. While in America she missed her mother and village greatly but knew this was for the best. She later went on to have kids and a happy life.

In this terrible prison camp, Jews were only given a small portion of soup and some bread, and they had to do exhausting labor. They lived in a disease-infested environment and the SS officers killed them in gas chambers when they no longer needed them.
