  • Enhancing communications skills: improving presentation skills by presenting without speaker notes and thinking of what to say on the spot.
  • Building interpersonal skills: having a professional relationship with superiors and placement students and learning how to give and receive feedback.

During my mentoring session, I wanted to explore their dreams regarding how they want their bedroom to look in the future. I had three mentees that week, and we created a vision board on what items or what we want our rooms to look like in the future. Right after, each of the students explained what their vision board meant. I learned about their interests and aesthetics that I never knew about. For example, one student talked about how they wanted a cricket bat and ball in their dream room and how passionate they were about that sport (which I did not know about).
